ya will go MG to test drive and check out the warranty details in the coming weeks.

Should note that it's not 100% efficient. There's going to be some loss to Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) as well as powering the lights, electronics, etc. - so one won't get the full 425km per charge. A good rule of thumb is a 20% energy loss. Cold weather has a higher losses, but thankfully Singaporeans don't need to worry about it.

Most new BEVs employ a structural battery pack in a skate board layout. I.e. the cells are at the bottom of the vehicle to provide a low center of gravity and thus stability. The individual battery cells are integrated and become a structural member of the vehicle body. See cut away diagram below.

The structural battery pack is supposed to give torsional rigidity and higher structural strength compared to ICE vehicles. It also improves packing density and improves volumetric efficiency of the battery pack. I.e. can put into more cells for a given volume. 

Basically it's not possible to replace individual cells in a structural battery pack. The whole pack assembly has to be swapped out. Most BEV battery packs will out live the vehicle. In the case of the MGS5 EV, the battery cells and packs are made by a joint venture between the parent company (SAIC) and the world's largest battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited, (CATL). 

If you do end of buying the MG S5EV, please ask Eurokars for the battery curve and post here in this thread. Would be useful info for future owners.

With nothing to compare against, Eurokars is hoping that Singaporeans will have goldfish memory and they can price the MG4 Urban as high as possible so that their gross money jiāngshī (吸血鬼) 🧛‍♂️ margin remain as high as possible. How gross is that?🤮

Will post a follow up and price breakdown once the OMV of the MG4 Urban is known.

What do you think of the price now at $182.88k? Is there something we are all missing? Or is the jiāngshī not hungry enough.. 

COE only went up $5k but car price jumped $17k lol..

I booked at $168.8k with a few extra freebies before finding your post about omv. Was kicking myself and having buyer's remorse until I saw the price revisions.. feeling a lot better about my decision now

Launch price is really attractive if OMV is about $24k.

The price increase is in line Eurokar pricing, i guess

Maybe the $17k car price jump is to buffer coe increase in next the few rounds?!

Yes I did. It's a easier transition for my wife coming from a traditional jap sedan.

Was at the showroom yesterday. Nett after discount is $177,888 for mg4 urban. Really very spacious inside especially the rear. But then if u see the S5 is just $6k more and then with RWD I think makes more sense.

Last weekend S5 was just $1k more than MG4 Urban.. which was a better deal.. 

Main bugbear of S5 is no ventilated seats while MG4 urban have 2 front ventilated seats..

The MG6 price up so much. There was one time this car was selling at around $190k.

MG4 rear very spacious? This car outside like doesn’t look big le?! Rear more spacious than S5?

Other than ventilated seats, is MGS5 better or worse than MG4 in terms of spec, features and handling?

Feel to me the rear leg room both are the same, but of cos s5 headroom more

I test drove both S5 and 4 urban.. 4 urban besides ventilated seats and better efficiency.. the rest like handling etc. I feel s5 is equal or better.. not that 4 urban is bad though.. sadly both of them got no frunk.. 4 urban also missing rear center armrest

I see the spec, despite the size for S5 bigger than MG4, but the wheelbase MG4 is slightly longer.
