Question is ....

Why...

Why...

Need to tabao? Why need to pack?

Cannot eat at hawker centre bcos need to return the tray and cutlery?

Need additional material for packing, then just pay for it.

If not just eat there or shut up.

what kind of logic is this

u mean customers cannot dabao food home

Then don't provide any...

Then they will value the water bottle like we did 40,50 & 60yrs ago.

One day without water won't die one lah...... 😅

Furthermore they still can buy drinks at canteen.

my sis changes her kids water bottle every year.
Cos as the plastic ages, the microplastics released will increase.

I have switched the family to SS water bottles for some time liao. Quite useful when going overseas to cold weather, just use the same water bottle.

Environmentally much better. Healthwise also safer.
Oasis can replace the plastic bottle caps in case they are cracked from a fall. The main bottle itself is very sturdy.
Many families nowadays use owala or oasis.

What about charges for extra empty bowl?

And if you think that bringing your own cup, container can save you the extra charges, well just be careful.

I had encountered hawker stalls insisting that I use the container (chargable at $0.30 to $0.50 per piece) provided (instead of the one I brought along), citing hygiene reasons. When I open up my container for the worker to check, the uncle said the lid was not clean, have FINGER PRINT on it!! I just walk away.

If I have the time to play with him, I will order using their container and reject it claiming got finger print on it. Ridiculous!

had similar experience in a restaurant

service staff uncle told me his boss set a rule that everyone must order drinks (free flow)

die die wanted me to order a drink

I told him nicely there is really nothing in their drink list that I want

he high EQ and IQ

he pour a glass of water in a mug and place it in front of me

to make it look like I ordered a drink 👍

I will support those who are reasonable.

There was once when I ran out of hot water to prepare milk for my baby, I went to a coffee stall to ask for a little water (just about 120 ml). I was charged I think $0.30 or $0.50 for the water (which was dispensed direct into the feeding bottle).

On another occasion, I overturn the hot water flask and ended up have to get water from coffee stall again (different one from my previous case). This time, the lady boss at the stall asked for the hot water flask and filled it to >3/4 full (much more than I need), and did not charged me a cent for it. I ended up ordering a few drinks for my family (we hardly ordered any drinks outside cos my wife is very health conscious) to show my support and appreciation.

You can also think of it another way. Those prc establishment give free rice refill tea refill, but still make enough.

So that might mean those f&b that charge you for stuff like that, must be making extra profits off customers.

They don't make enough. They make loss.

They just need a presence to take money out of China. They're not here to make profit.

All the rising cost is also taking a toll on the hawkers too.

In the past when hawkers wash their own plates, they never charge for additional bowl request.  I don't know whose idea to implement central washing and hawker had to incur additional cost.  I guess this is the new trend forward and we may just need to adjust with times.  Long gone are the days when mata wear shorts and everyone are not so calculative, kampung spirits are hard to come by these days.

Let's be more conscious and do our part for the environment, example, if tabao, refrain from taking those disposable utensils, and keep a set of utensils in the office.  Will be great if you bring your own containers too.  I know it is mafan for some people, but let's start with something small.

I heard this chargeable hot water thing is due to unkers spoiled market

they bring their own beverage sachet from home

ask free hot water in cup and DIY drinks in the establishment

it's cause and effect

I believe F&B people won't eat too full and came out with so many patterns

most of the time is to protect themselves/businesses from being exploited

but charging money for milk preparing hot water is too calculative already lah...

Want to eat own food and drinks please go hawker centre and not someone's restaurant they paid rent for.

Bring own mineral water and want to make a fuss.

The family should be flamed jialat jialat for being idiots and teaching their children to be idiots.

The family not happy they should start their own restaurant and let customers bring their own food and drink - I will support them and bring MIL every day to eat home cooked food or hawker center food and enjoy their free aircon!

:D

Just like saying all used car dealers are crooks charge high high.

Open a used car dealership lah and sell cheap cheap I will come and all buy their cars!

And sell them for a higher price!
