Since when BYD has $0 downpayment? They really go all the way to flood the whole SG with BYD cars? Lol.

Guaranteed COE is going to keep levels high I’m afraid

I am waiting to see COE go up to above 140k. So far still not yet happen. Highest was around 130k.

Don't worry, I am fine, just that I am tied up with work and have less time to post on MCF.

All the best to those vested.

I thought Gov is to be blamed..

- for allowing FT professionals to flood in, and every professional need a car

- for allowing big EV to be registered under Cat A

- for allowing car dealers to circumvent MAS min loan regulations with $0 down payment deals

The damn thing that irritates me is this. People kpkb when Cat A prices closed with Cat B.

Gahmen decides to pump up 'luxury' car prices with more OMV. Hit em with the PARF rebate stick. Impose 134hp cap on 1.6L cars.

All these f**kery, instead of making Cat A cheaper, served to only pump-up prices for the nicer cars and forced people to pay more for downsized/detuned/content-nerfed Cat A cars, because that 5 Series or E Klasse is now so bloomin' expensive that many of the previous buyers gave up and moved to Cat A or B&B basic Cat B.

Bottom line is, you pump up Porche Ferlali prices because hoi polloi green eyed, end up Cat A also die because of gahmen favourite theory of trickle down economics.

Don't buy, wait for AI to replace more white collar jobs and COE may collapse with demand disappearing.

No job, PHV also no business and 0 down rental scheme will also be fxxked.

Jialat, end of the world as we know it. 😂😂😂

Although its instinctive to blame the lich people for high COE prices, I think its the people who stretch their splincter to take big and long loans (including renting to drive PHV) up their rectum which are really to blame.

I spent some time at BYD showroom a few weekends back, and the profile of buyers are very interesting.

They cover quite a broad spectrum of demographics.

- Old uncles and aunties. They have disposable cash, but mostly are resigned to buying an EV instead of their favourite BMW/Merc like they used to have last time. Anyway at their age, status don't matter as much anymore. They just need a car to drive around.
- Parents buying car for their adult children. Not much more needs to be said about these.
- Young couples buying their first car. Not many of these actually.
- Non-locals. I don't want to be racist, but those in particular that come from countries starting with letter 'I' come across as especially arrogant. I presume if they are from those countries and manage to make it to Singapore, means they are quite high up the SES ladder already.

Thats my point lor. Those uncles and aunties would have bought lesus mersaylee beehamdubya last time but now have to fight for fish with Cat A or low end of Cat B.

Really ah? So many Iranians and Irish buying! Wow.

I find BYD is like some condo, you can find all types of profile of people staying in that cluster. Staying in condo not necessary people would be high class or got standard.

BYD is attracting mass market, like any tom dick or harry will buy BYD. Lol. Maybe this is why BYD is flooded all over SG roads.

BYD is an amazing company

it has the depth and width to cater to many people

from really entry level stuff to higher denza level stuff

and it does so with great vertical integration and even has its own RORO fleet

every vessel can carry upwards of 5000 cars - see the Australian invasion with half the cars already sold before they land

there’s a great battle going on there with Toyota also sending 10000 cars over

the other traditional companies there are not doing so well, except Tesla and maybe jaeco

BYD has another premium brand that's doing quite well and much better than Denza. See numbers below comparing Fang Cheng Bao to Denza.

Fang Cheng Bao is doing about 2.7x better than Denza for the first five months of 2026.

image.png.d31a9dba86c5b42b220498431085b6b7.png

Demand of Fang Cheng Bao Ti7 is doing very well on a monthly basis and year to date for 2026. The year to date numbers of one model from Fang Cheng Bao (Ti7) is greater than all of Denza...🤯

The Bao 5 is available in PHEV form in Singapore as the Denza B5 Orion. BYD's marketing strategy is to sell the Fang Cheng Bao (Leopard) brand under the Denza name overseas. It may change later on if the Leopard becomes more popular.
