Shader Clutched November 7, 2016 Share November 7, 2016 Insurance premium reduced if the car got more bags? Having more bags will increase my chance of survival in an accident? NCAP ratings are for batch or series testing? All vezel look-alike bodies will gets this rating? Can I confirm the video posted all over utube with 5stars rating is for the car I'm buying in sg? Strange is almost all cars that bang on this ratings are 5 stars. Does that means 4 star is unsafe and cannot be driven on the roads? Sensing is a new toy. Having it does not mean one is a safer driver. If it gets one out of a situation, its $ well spent! I'm just as happy with my hrv dx with just 2 bags and non-sensing. Most of all these safety equipment are secondary safety devices ie aftermath. The primary is still the driver. Just like safety helmet, shoes and vest. IMO, end of the day, drive safe. All it takes is one reckless driver to plow on your side and you're gone. In this case, you being a safe driver equates to nothing. By then, don't complain there are no airbags to protect you.. if you are still alive, that is.

For high end cars are equipped with kneel air bags for the rear passsengers too. Sometimes it is just at the wrong place and at the wrong time. Yamapi 6th Gear November 7, 2016 Share November 7, 2016 (edited) From Google ....Can't find 8 air bag in US , China market.... I was told only the JDM Vezels has 8 airbags. The side curtain airbags comes in a pair for each side. This is only for the JDM Vezels. For the international markets, it comes with either 6 or 2 airbags. As usual the Japanese always keep the best things for themselves. Edited November 7, 2016 by Yamapi
Ara 1st Gear November 7, 2016 Share November 7, 2016 (edited) If I remember correctly. The earlier Vezel may have 8 airbags. After the face-lift, the vezel comes with 6 airbags (or some call it 4), same as HRV LX. I shared this youtube about face-lift Vezel before : https://www.youtube.com/shared?ci=HLNsOVz2p6U At about 00:55, it is narrated the face-lift vezel have 6 airbags. Skymax 5th Gear November 7, 2016 Share November 7, 2016 Side collision, with side airbag you got neck injury. Without side airbag, you got cracked skull. Don't bet on your driving skill, maybe can also entangled by handphone cable too.
Ara 1st Gear November 7, 2016 Share November 7, 2016 I will get my car soon and KM HRV LX APF is around $23500. Your ARF of $23,500 or is it OMV? $23,500 - $5000 = $18,500 (actual ARF) Scrap is then $18,500 / 2 = $9,250 Actual ARF is the term show on the registration info. fxsg123 1st Gear November 7, 2016 Share November 7, 2016 Hi All, Looking for an economical spacious car. Went to 2 reputatable PIs and quoted PI1 - petrol 1.5x (2015 model no sensing) at $101,800 guaranteed 1 bid PI2 - hybrid 1.5x sensing at $110,8000 guaranteed 1 bid Q1. Like to find out if sensing really works in SG road? Q2. Hybrid fc is definitely better than petrol fc? Q3. Worthed the $10k to get hybrid sensing over petrol without sensing? Thanks Q1. Yes, it work for me and I'll go as far as to said once you have it, you cant live without it. It break for me on one occasion, PIE towards BKE with my steering wheel and accelerator padal shaking like mad when the car in front of me suddenly ebrake. Usually, sensing will just warn me with beep beep sound and steering wheel vibrating but that occasion it just skip this warning. Without sensing, my reaction would likely be half a second later and I'll likely have to ebrake too.

Let's say there is 8 airbags in the car but a bus crash into the top of the car ........ I guess there is no right no wrong on being safe in a car. No offense. Most of all these safety equipment are secondary safety devices ie aftermath. The primary is still the driver. Just like safety helmet, shoes and vest. IMO, end of the day, drive safe. NCAP ratings are for the entire lineup of a vehicle, but the test vehicle usually has at least a mid or high level safety spec - most are sent in with the maximum airbag count, but it's only recently that vehicles are beginning to be tested with active safety. The American IIHS is also a very good testing body that now takes into account active safety features, and they are recognized for doing an oft-overlooked test known as frontal overlap. Mind you NCAP stars are based on how the chassis and body stands up to collision, but honestly you may doubt side airbags are important but in the event of a T-bone or spin-out and sideways impact, no front air bag can save you. No, 4 stars is not unsafe, but a 5 star vehicle will certainly have a higher probability of keeping its occupants intact in a serious collision than a 4 star vehicle. See, the thing is with people who believe it is okay and won't happen to them because they are a capable driver. Don't need Honda sensing, what not. But even the best drivers have their bad minutes, hours, days. And then, no matter how safe you are, if some moron is on an unavoidable collision course with you, how good is your skill? Or if some tree suddenly fall on top of your roof, and your car has tin cans for its roof pillars, what good are you? But I'm going off my original intended point; people who believe just 2 airbags is OK is why companies like BM can get away with selling them as the baseline. Even the entire Sonata taxi fleet turned out to have no airbags. And when cabbies get into accidents they are injured badly. Anyway I have been driving cars without traction control for decades. Vezel is my first car with traction control. Guess what..it did aid me in a few near miss incident since I took hold of this car. Haha technology and safety equipment seem redundant at times. However there will be time you are grateful they exist in your car. As regards to number of airbags..when I was in mid twenties they are the least important item inside the car. Heck care how many airbag. Now old men..family safety rank above oneself. seeing those video/picture of accidents on nshw..it really give me cold sweat..what if I am save but not my family members. Even the entire Sonata taxi fleet turned out to have no airbags. And when cabbies get into accidents they are injured badly. Exactly. It appalls me that there are still people who think they are always so lucky on the roads, so much so that they do not put safety as their first priority despite numerous deadly accidents on our local roads in recent years. I have been driving for 5 years and I would have gotten into a few serious accidents if I was not vigilant enough; most of them i.e. beating red lights or failed to give way at Double Broken White Lines. (Just last month a lorry just dashed across the DBWL without even slowing down and checking for traffic and I almost knocked into him. I realized later that that driver was on the phone. I sent my in-car footage to the police and the vehicle is now under investigation. I agree with you bros. I haven't tested the airbags yet ..hope not. Anyway I have been driving cars without traction control for decades. Vezel is my first car with traction control. Guess what..it did aid me in a few near miss incident since I took hold of this car. We do not need to test the airbags, and hope we do not need to use it. But at least you know when you are driving your vehicle, you feel more protected with them surrounding you. therock Supersonic November 8, 2016 Share November 8, 2016 Sigh There's always someone who holds the belief they have the unique knack of never meeting an accident. Airbags are optional Leather seats and PPS are more important. Lower OMV better I hope I never use those airbags but I am grateful they are there.
