HI Guys,

Am collecting my Mazda 6 2.0 litres soon and am thinking of changing the rims:

- I hear performance may get affected as in efficiency etc (anything I should take note of)

- the sale girl told me warranty may be affected.. Can that be?

- I love the Mazda 2.5 litres rim but I can't seem to get them here in spore.

- Anyone has recommendations?

My WhatApps group, got a few people changed to 18" & 19" aftermarket rims, the 18"SSR with 225/50 tyres are in fact lighter than the stock 17",so FC is not affected, warranty is not affected...no worries,no point getting the stock 19" rims,go for aftermarket...

I intend to base on Casetrust certification and number of years in business. Thats all right?

Choosing the right PI is one thing. Having a good warranty workshop is another big hurdle.

I bought from a PI, waited for 7mths for the car to be delivered. Bought my car at a high price. During the time i got my car, already got a loss of more then 20k cos the COE dropped more then 20k. [bigcry] Once i got the car at the night, i thought problem is over. 2nd day when there is daylight, inspected the car. Wa. Nightmare. There were scratches, when called PI, they just scrubbed off that I did not point out during the handover. By the way, the car was parked at a private lot, with 2 cameras covering the lot in the same building of the PI. I did not even drive out of my office building as didn't manage to transfer the season parking to the new car. because i was only informed can collect the car at a timing after the HDB office closes. [furious]

Cut the story short and move onto the supposedly reputable warranty workshop, OW. During my first 1k servicing, they went to skim my disc brake TWICE, when i confronted them, they say is the mistake of their guys? If i have not spotted it, means i gotta change my discs at my own pocket after the warranty is over due to "wear and tear"? This is not the only issue. Once they changed the engine oil, the car immediately became unresponsive, with engine sounding very loud and raw. When i asked what oil they used, they claimed they used the liquimoly 5w30, which is poured into a container at the back of their workshop. I believed them naively. When i checked the oil level the next day during the engine i cold, the oil is overfilled as well  [thumbsdown]

During my 6k servicing, i went back. This time i check again, what oil they will be using. I did not walk off this time. Stood infront of the car and saw every thing they do. Guess this round, they bobian, then poured a unopened new bottle of liquimoly top tech 4605 5e30 from their shelf. I was also promised to get a new set of brake discs during this servicing for their mistake. During the change of the brake discs, they just remove the wheel and disc and just dangled the brake pad housing on the brake hose. I sound out to the mechanic and service manager, they say thats how they do it. Ask their sensor manager if i don't like it. After that, the next thing i know, i was "shooed" from the workshop and asked to stay at the waiting room. What a disappointment! It does not end there, when i was home, checked on the way they handled our cars, as I noticed my car was missing for almost an hour from the workshop. I was shocked. Driving dangerously at an excess of 80km/h on 50km/h roads without wearing seatbelt. They just floored and rammed the accelerators and jammed brakes almost throughout the drive. Shifting from drive to reverse when the car have not stopped fully etc. I doubt its the way to "test" our cars.  [mad]

Of course this is an isolated incidence. Don't be scared. It could happen in any AD workshop too, hahaha.

Hi Bro, sorry to hear about what your car had to go through with them. My warranty ws is OW too. First was at serangoon where they said they were using some semi synthetic Liquimoly 5w30. Second I did it at their Thomson branch where they wanted to use shell 5w40! But end up I said I wanted to use W30 so they agreed. But not too sure what they poured in. But I work on a trust with them and hope they don't mess with my car.

However, their car wash is crap. If anyone cares about their paint or has done pps, I would not reccomend it. It adds swirls to your paint, washing is not clean, drying is not clean as well.

All 4 tyres were pumped up to 240kpa during service. I drove to petrol station and deflated all to the reccomended by Honda by following the numbers on the sticker beside the driver seat. Im running stock rims and tyres so I believe Honda Japan's R&D would have a better idea of why they reccomended such tyre pressures instead of 240?

I called the serangoon branch once to ask about what kind of transmission fluid would they be using for our CVT gearbox when I reach the mileage to change it and if they have Honda HCF-2 as stated in the manual for it. My reply from their senior advisor was.. Honda HCF-2 is an old type of oil. They are using a newer version of it.
