This is very true as of today, PM me if any of you are considering the hybrids,

 

We have a strong 150 hybrid owners in our chatgp here in sg. We shared all hybrid tech, mods and ice...

 

We just did our first all vezel hybrid meetups on 17th Sept at East Coast Park :))

Not trying to provoke or be offensive but are you Vezel hybrid owners worried about the hybrid battery after say 5 years or so. I ask cos I understand Toyota Prius batteries gave up after 5-6years but as BM has a 10yr warranty on the batteries, it was replaced FOC. Not sure if PI will do this?

 

The Prius was an earlier generation hybrid so maybe the batteries have improved since then but Toyota are the world's leader in hybrid technology so I would be worried buying a hybrid from a PI but maybe Honda Japan has a 10yr warranty as well?

It's selling at $112k now leh.

Yes, that is their cost price. It is open book by LTA , so no secrets. They are selling at 113.9k. So it is effectively 114k, meaning 16K gross profit.

Warranty is one thing. Battery change is another thing.

So since Vezel Hybrid existence in sg, no one change battery yet.

Like say, BMW change battery for free.

Not sure Toyota or Honda.

 

Assuming need to change battery 5 years later (last time was 2 years), how much is the battery? This is the initial question asked but not answered yet.

nobody will know the price of battery 5 years later......... we are talking about future price. How to tell? 

 

If the warranty covers FOC change of battery, then no need to worry about the price. 

The only thing to worry is whether the PI will be around 5 years later. :grin:

Aiya then tell the price of battery now loh.

Not sure if some bro that drive hybrid know that the battery need to be change.

If I am to drive hybrid I will ask the same question too, how much? How long can the battery last? Where to get it change?

 

But valid sentence if PI still around 5 years later ð

Vezel will be more tricky, different PI declare different OMV which will have direct influence to the cost due to arf and excise tax etc. But you can still take ref from lta website, they do publish car cost on monthly basis. But those OMV are unreal, anyone who have tried to import their own car would know why.

I've asked 2 PIs about this.

While they both said the battery will last 5 yrs, one quoted the battery price at $7k, the other quoted $10k. That's exorbitant!

 

But hope the battery price will decline substantially in the coming years

That price sounds right.

One factor you should take into account before you commit to a hybrid.

I don't think any PI will dare to give a 10 year warranty on the battery..  

I did my sums, and the 5-7k replacement costs will eat away all my fuel savings..

Anyway OMV depends on the foreign exchange rate too.

But they should tell me when I got my COE. I did ask the SP when she notified me my COE got it. Now 2 weeks after I got my COE then notified me to pay the balance.

 

This will be my last time with parallel importer.

Just to share here: I bought both my car from Autolink.

Price is almost +/- same as big PL, but I like their honesty and salesman experience in transaction.

 

Speaking from a buyer stand point.
