I enjoy reading crowd sourced comments on these topics as much as the videos/article/podcast etc. Nowadays with information overload, gurus/experts are a dime a dozen.

Last weekend I visited a Success Resources seminar with Robert Kiyosaki as the main speaker. I was wondering why these rich gurus like peng joon or Sandy JadeJe will wanna teach their secrets to others. supposedly secrets that can easily earn thousands every day or so. I am trying to be more positive and think of good reasons. i admit i am not those super selfless generous guys. I have my ways of trading and earning a good profit month to month, but I don't think I will openly share. i earned it the hard way and i don't dare to be responsible if someone learns and lose money. I have my ecommerce business that my company and I are working hard, but all these are like hardearned secrets we built up. Am I the odd one out? Or maybe coz I am not rich enough to be openly generous? I know this forex trader, he just opened his corporate office in marina bay, a nice trading floor. i put my money with him for 3 years, earning 3% per month and happy with it. so when he corporatised and planning to register with MAS for private fund, i ask him if he would be able to teach me more on forex, i don't mind paying to learn. this is a multi millionaire trader and he told me "sorry pal, i won't teach anyone.." i mean, that makes complete sense. i don't blame him for keeping his trading skills private. i just don't get it why so many gurus teaching their skills and knowledge for barely $2000 SGD (most of the courses at Success Resources are abt $1998 SGD) its so little. say one course has abt 100 particpates, thats $200,000 minus all the commission (credit card fees, payment for room, payment to Success Resources) maybe you get back only $120,000 or so? isn't that very little considering the skill sets they have can net them hundreds of thousands monthly easily? Why add competitors to their fields? i like to think they are nice generous people who really want to help the world, but i have this feeling I am the naive guy. just feel sad that so many people sign up, not sure how many will truly benefit from it.

Yahoo news: India police probe godman over alleged castration of 400 followers Indian police said they are investigating a popular self-styled godman for allegedly encouraging 400 followers to undergo castrations at his ashram so they could get closer to god. The country's top crime fighting agency has registered a case against Gurmeet Ram Rahim, known as the "guru in bling" for his penchant for garish clothes and jewellery, over the operations in the country's north. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said in a statement late Wednesday Rahim is being investigated for criminal intimidation and causing grievous bodily hurt, saying 400 castrations were allegedly carried out. The guru, who heads the Dera Sacha Sauda organisation based in Haryana state, is already facing trial for conspiracy over the murder of a journalist in 2002 along with claims of sexually exploiting female followers. The latest case was filed after one of his devotees, Hans Raj Chauhan, lodged a complaint in court alleging he was manipulated into having the "painful" operation at the ashram. "They were told that only those who get castrated will be able to meet god," Chauhan's lawyer, Navkiran Singh, told AFP on Thursday. "We will put all the facts of the case to the court and seek compensation for the victims." He said doctors carried out the castrations over a period from 2000, but for years his client had been too scared to come forward. The court asked the CBI to undergo an investigation into the alleged castrations. Forty-seven-year-old Rahim could not immediately be contacted for comment. The Dera Sacha Sauda says it is a social welfare and spiritual organisation with millions of followers in India and abroad. On its website, the group describes Rahim as a saint as well as an author, inventor, scientist, philosopher, philanthropist, peace activist and "the ultimate humanitarian". Rahim also stars in an action movie to be released later this month called "MSG: Messenger of God" in which the guru fights criminals, sings songs and is shown dousing himself in water in slow motion after a rugby game. India has been rocked by numerous scandals involving popular godmen who are mostly Hindu ascetics claiming to possess mystical powers. In November, police arrested Baba Rampal Maharaj after a long and violent siege at his ashram in Haryana when he refused to comply with court orders in a murder case. In a bizarre case, devotees of a dead guru are fighting a court battle in Punjab state to preserve his body in a freezer, insisting he is only meditating. For many Indians, gurus play an integral role in daily life. Hi all, I want to use an EAN 13 barcode for in-store use. Managed to find the UPC prefix from web but not the EAN. I suppose they are almost the same if not actually the same . 0 Standard UPC number (must have a zero to do zero-suppressed numbers) 1 Reserved 2 Random-weight items (fruits, vegetables, meats, etc.) 3 Pharmaceuticals 4 In-store marking for retailers (A store can set up its own codes, but no other store will understand them.) 5 Coupons 6 Standard UPC number 7 Standard UPC number 8 Reserved 9 Reserved I'm contemplating to use 4. Just some questions which I hope I can find some answers to:- Are there many ways to test whether RAM is faulty and motherboard? Presuming the RAM and motherboard is not removed from host. At any point in time does the technician need to assess BIOS to find out?? If BIOS is password protected, can they actually bypassed it to run the necessary checks??
