  1. Lots of missing context in this one. Nonetheless an interesting watch. What happened? On 11 September 2023, at Yishun (again??) Avenue 6, an altercation broke out between a food delivery rider and a BMW driver. According to the Facebook post, the BMW driver was “closely following” the rider before the incident, saying that “the traffic light signalled”. How specific! Because the traffic light definitely doesn’t have multiple signals, each with VERY different meanings. But we’ll assume the light turned green. Why else would someone “impatiently honk”? Unfortunately for the driver, the rider was apparently infuriated. This led to the shouting and various gestures seen in the video, though the camera was too far away to really record what was said clearly. Oddly enough, the rider seems like a decent person, as they apologised to a driver in the lane besides and waved them through. So either: a) The rider is a bit sensitive and might have taken too long, prompting the BMW to honk. b) The BMW driver was tailgating and is indeed in the wrong and anyhow honk because they cannot wait. Let’s see what the comments think. Online chatter Obligatory “Yishun” comments out of the way first. The general sentiment is that people are siding with the driver, though considering the demographic on Facebook, there’s definitely some bias there. Some just joined in to vent their frustration on cyclists. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 2. The brakes on the car must be good, rider was wearing no protection and still escaped unscathed. What happened? On 11 September 2023, at Yishun Industrial Street 1 (because OF COURSE it was at Yishun), a food delivery rider on a PAB (Power Assisted Bicycle) ignored a stop line at a junction and was subsequently hit by a car. The car was going at around 30km/h and unable to avoid the rider, who was already onto the road and stopped moving like a deer in headlights. Upon impact, the rider was thrown off his bike and rolled on the road a couple times before getting back up. Rather smoothly, I must say. In an amazing stroke of luck, the rider seemed uninjured, despite not wearing a helmet or any protection. Incredibly, the rider was unsatisfied with simply getting away from a crash unscathed, and demanded compensation for the incident. What phone is worth $1800? And what loss of income bro?? Online chatter Quite a few people felt the demands were unjustified, with many different reasons. Others simply urged the camcar to just make a police report and claim their insurance instead. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 3. Ah bengs are just YPs who never grew out of it because they peaked in their youth and were never more loved or relevant since then. Therefore they continue to act like they did when they were young in order to cling to their scraps of “respect” and “adoration”. Because how else can you be as free and petty as this guy? What happened? A camvehicle had the misfortune of encountering an Ah Beng PAB rider on Yuan Ching Road last Sunday, 22 April. We can see in the footage that the Ah Beng was going fairly slow on the road. The camvehicle lightly honked twice while at a decent distance from the PAB. The camvehicle overtook the PAB before stopping for a bus. And that’s the last we see of the PAB. SIKE! The PAB Ah Beng shows up once more after two minutes! The camvehicle stops for 30 seconds in front of a red light and the Ah Beng uses his PAB to block the camvehicle. The Ah Beng gets off and tells the camvehicle to come out, as well as a bunch of stuff in Chinese to taunt the driver. After a while (for some reason not immediately) the driver calls the police in front of the Ah Beng who remains undeterred. Ah Beng gives the car’s front bumper a mild shove, at which point the driver has enough and continues on his way, calling the Ah Beng a CB to the police (yes he was still on call). So bro was fast enough to chase a vehicle down for 2 minutes, but couldn't go fast enough to not be a hindrance to traffic? This entire thing could've been prevented if he was just pedalling faster or NOT ON THE ROAD AT ALL. I must say I find Ah Beng’s determination impressive, if only for the wrong reasons. Who knows what he could’ve been if he used his resilience in his career and not being a pest? Online chatter Ah Beng’s behaviour does not help the already poor reputation of PAB riders. Or cyclists on the road. Others once again plead with LTA and the government to take action against such riders. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 4. TL;DR - Luck hasn’t run out for this PAB food rider as he speeds through the red light and almost gets banged by incoming traffic Presenting to you one of the top idiots in Singapore. Watch this 34-second clip to see this ballsy man who gave no !@#$ about traffic rules and almost getting himself rekt. What happened? A hairbreadth escape for the PAB food rider as he dashed through the red light and almost got himself killed by incoming traffic. But I guess it's just not his time to go yet. Almost a Code Blue for this man. The safety of food delivery riders have been in the spotlight in recent years, especially so when we’ve been seeing so many cases of these riders flouting road rules and ended up getting injured or killed in the process. It seems as though there isn’t much training nor emphasis done for these food delivery riders since they are able to so easily bend traffic regulations. Online Chatter Is it just me or is his drifting skills kinda funny? A narrow escape for this man, definitely a close call. No matter how urgent the delivery is or how good the incentives may be, one life lost is one too many. Please be safe on the road, protect yourself and other road users. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 5. Let’s be frank. Cyclists have made a notorious reputation for themselves over the years. They are known to be among the top cause of annoyance to motorists, which easily frustrates motorists when they encounter an errant cyclist on the road. Watch this video to find out what happens when an impatient driver meets a ‘guai-lan’ cyclist: What Happened? While travelling on a two-carriageway road, an SBS bus on the left lane switched on his right signal indicator after realising that a heavy vehicle was obstructing the lane. Just then, an errant Power-Assisted Bicycle (PAB) user who was lane-splitting in the middle of both lanes observed the SBS bus’ intention and proceeded to make an abrupt lane change without checking his side mirrors and his blind spot. The cyclist’s abrupt lane change alarmed the cam car driver, who was travelling in the right lane then. As a result, the cam car driver sounded his honk at the cyclist to alert him of his reckless manoeuvre. In response, the PAB cyclist threw an angry hand gesture to demonstrate his displeasure towards the cam car driver for honking at him. Following that, the cyclist began performing brake checks on the cam car driver and began riding at a slow pace. (Yes, I didn’t know brake checks were a thing for cyclists too) Not to anyone’s surprise, the cam car driver got impatient and frustrated at the PAB cyclist and began sounding long, consistent honks at the cyclist. Now, you would think that the cyclist has used up all the tricks up his sleeve after the angry hand gesture, the brake checks and riding at an extremely slow pace. Well, you are absolutely wrong! What he does next will make you marvel at how ‘guai-lan’ he can be — the PAB cyclist proceeded to disembark from his bike! Upon disembarkation, he kicks his bike stand and leaves his bike in the middle of the road with his arms folded before taunting the cam car driver to get past his man-made obstruction. Shortly after performing his ‘winning’ move and posing for the camera, he throws another angry hand gesture at the cam car driver before zipping away on his PAB. Latest Update Additional clips of him behaving like a road menace and committing multiple offences have surfaced on the internet. Watch it here: Netizens’ Comments Wise words from a concerned netizen. Seems like this PAB cyclist have developed quite a reputation in the Sengkang/Punggol area🤔 This fella here wants to fight fire with fire😱 ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 6. If you are unaware, PAB stands for power-assisted bicycles, the 'legal version' of e-bikes that can be used on our roads. Unfortunately, this one reckless PAB rider simply could not stand getting honked while on the road and ended up road raging.\ Watch the video here: What Happened? A PAB biker was recklessly riding along Serangoon Ave 3 and was honked at by a car behind him. Upon getting honked at, the PAB biker instantaneously became noticeably upset and turned around to confront the driver. As he approached the driver, the PAB biker slapped the car's bonnet once and hit the driver's side window. He then aired his grievances before swinging open the car door forcefully. The forceful swing of the door caused it to close by itself after being fully extended. What Happened Off-Camera According to the user who submitted the video, the driver, an elderly uncle, was extremely shaken by the encounter and was 'teary-eyed'. Apparently, the PAB rider dropped his number plate at the incident site It was subsequently retrieved by the cam car driver and the uncle. And let's be real here: The uncle did not deserve that kind of treatment. His honk was a subtle honk to alert the PAB rider rather than a honk to provoke him. SMH, another unjustified case of bullying. Netizens' Comments Just like cyclists. The uncle was indeed trying to alert the PAB rider of his surroundings. What offences do y'all think the PAB rider committed?
