What do you guys use this speaker for?

I see everyone here saying how good it is but they don't seem to actually use it. Seems like you guys pay money just to support SG companies....

I still remember going to Sim Lim Sq to compare the 2 cards between shops. Think I was 'blown' away when they demo Wing Commander in them. Haha.

Supercharged

Creative Technology’s stock price shot through the roof last Friday and closed the day up by 130%, cheered by prospects of its new Super X-Fi Headphone Holography technology which promises to bring “3D” sound to headphones.

I respect Mr Sim for his relentless fighting spirit over the years and his unwavering passion for Singapore. In a past interview by a local press last year, he cited Singapore among his 3 passions: “…… My third passion is Singapore. In fact, for Creative Technology, the best place to grow is in the US. We can move the entire company to the US, because Creative Technology is a tech firm. Don’t stay in Singapore, just move everything to the US and look for talent there. There’s so much talent there, especially in Silicon Valley. But we decided to stay in Singapore and invested in Singapore. All the marketing, technologies and methods are here in Singapore, we want to nurture locals. Even for projects involving the Chinese language, which should have been done in China, I said, do it in Singapore.

He was also candid in his famous description of the “No U-Turn Syndrome” among fellow Singaporeans. I still think of it sometimes when I've to drive a long distance to find a U-turn sign in order to make a legal U-turn, while in some other countries drivers may make U-turns freely so long as there is absence of "No U-turn" sign.

While the execution and market adoption of its latest technology remain to be observed, I hope that the company will once again do our country proud. Never mind that it will probably be a super long way to go before the 100 shares @$46.30 I had bought during the company’s heyday will see light at the end of the tunnel, if they ever will. Still I wish Mr Sim "Huat Ah!" in this Year of the Dog.
