Auto gearbox maintenance

I see. Ya, I refer to when use gear stick to shift that time, not the internal gear shifts. Maybe cos my previous auto trans car not so noisy, so now I a bit disturbed.

If you shift from D to P or R the sound is quite normal. But if the sound is from 1st to 2nd to 3rd etc when driving, worth to do a check of the GB.

The Lucasoil mentioned is not for oil leaks. Although its a very old n reputable brand, maybe u can check if ty hv something for Autobox oil leaks?

There r many products out there. Some do nothing. Some work but some wil destroy yr autobox in a short time.

Since yr leak is small n only 2 years to scrap, u can try some reputable products that stop the seal from leaking till u scrap.

I also have very little confidence in the workmanship at the agents.

I trust the information I get in here more.

Just to update on the Lucas oil, got 1 via Amazon and use it during my atf change ard 2 month bk.

It didn't help on the leak, but can feel gear change is much smoother.

So for now, I will just top up a bit atf when required.. Anyway my car left 20 months...

I feel that Honda cars auto tranny should be fail proof for the first 10 years

In general now most cars, Jap/Korean the autobox all very reliable.

Unfortunately sometimes an ignorant mechanic try to do something but end up he put either wrong ATF inside or fill too much or too little n cause damage to the autobox.

Of course when yr autobox spoil, he not going to come foreward n say he is responsible.

Thats why some autobox r sealed so to prevent any untrained mech from doing something to it n spoil it.

Thats also why I wil tell the ws what I want to change n when n I wil buy my own fluids/parts n hand to them n I stand there n supervise ty use the correct fluids n do it properly.

Thats the only way to ensure an untrained mech dun screw up yr car.

revert back to jerkiness after 3 months.

Jerkiness is certainly a sign of problem to come.

Prolonged jerkiness will not cause a problem. but is a symptom of a problem itself

almost guarantee you that they will advice for an overhaul.

what you describe is a symptom of autotrans that needs an overhaul.

Anyway just to check how old is your car. If left less than 2 years then dun waste money overhaul. If still got some life in it, might be worth to do an overhaul

autotrans will slip to a point where it wont engage anymore and of course, get stranded and dont move.

suggest you try the amsoil atf + lucas transmission addictive for short term relieve.

It worked for my car and yes, drive sedately for now to reduce further wear.

i went workshop today... but the problem didnt appear when I was there

they used some machine to check my gearbox, but there wasnt any error code

it seems that after a little driving, the jerk will disappear... cause the jerk came back after i left the workshop, went elsewhere and parked for a while.

Your car left one year only. Just leave it alone. At most change ATF. Don't spend unnecessarily, save $ for your next ride
