Makes no sense to go to Malaysia over the long weekend.

Spend a day (24hrs)  in the queue for return trip , with  slow traffic on the NS Highway.

The 4 day trip, you spend only 2 full days to enjoy the holiday, with the massive crowd.

Better to take a day's leave on a Friday and travel to Malaysia over the weekend  on the off peak period in May and Oct when children are having exams.

Travel distance is not the same as travel time.

Too many dumb people thinking that Malaysia is "close by" for a 4 day short vacation but don't realize a short distance does not equate a short and easy commute to the destination.

In the context of the ordeal at the checkpoints, they probably wasted 18-20 hours of their lives which is the same amount of time it takes you (including airport procedures) to fly to Bali, Perth or Taipei.

Imagine this driver go in Malaysia stuck in jam for say 8 hours, then return back from Malaysia stuck in jam for 8 hours.. Total 16 hours gone just like that just for the queueing to enter custom. Like that it's 3/4 of the day is gone. Wait still need to sleep right. Plus sleeping time = 24hours gone.. = 1 full day wasted just for that queuing.. Uniquely Singaporeans..

I should be going in this weekend to redeem my postponed trip.

Nice to stay behind spending times with my family participating in activities than to stuck in jam and joining the crowds.

My longest record was 4hrs from LKY-NDP weekend which I was stucked in EDL due to queue cutter squeezing in from near the bridge while I "kum-gong" queuing at the back. Would have paid RM300 near the entrance and move on than to wait 4hrs.

I believe alot are with small children in primary, sec school, that's why this period is the best for them. If just solely adults, it doesn't makes sense to go during this period. ,

Many complained, and swear that would be the last but in the next long weekend you see them there again. Hoomans are forgetful creatures. The temptation to go to Malaysia is too strong cos they think everything is 1/3 the price of Singapore. I would encourage the Malaysian authorities to inflate RON97 fuel price and fix the RON95 to somewhat appease the locals.

It is bad for him to cut queue but he does not deserve to be beaten up that way.

If he would have wind down the window and shows some courtesy, I won't think people will beat him up

If you squeeze in and still think you are right, then I think that will trigger off people.

Pity those who pump full tank in order to save petrol $$$$$ .....  [:(]

The 7 hours jam could have left only 1/2 tank by the time it reach SG ....

plus all the carbon build up!!!   [laugh]  [laugh]

Telegram chat says that there are someone kena carbon monoxide poisoning and has to be sent to the hospital. Dunno how they manage that feat. There is no way the ambulance can reach him. The only way out is to be air lifted.
