Kusje Supersonic May 17, 2014 Share May 17, 2014 (edited) guranteed coe is also 6 bids apparently. I just got my license and went to the dealer, so I was very green. should write to case and MP to see if they are aware about this and if it is even allowed in the first place. the tying down for 6 bids is exceptionally unfair personally. You mean MP never buy car before? Or Minister of transport not award of how cars are being sold? I don't understand why everything also must complain to MP..... Anyway, you should always do your research before buying a 100-200k item. Edited May 17, 2014 by Kusje
nazerath Turbocharged May 17, 2014 Share May 17, 2014 not say complain,,, maybe these is against the fair trading act? anyway should have researched more.
Wt_know Hypersonic May 17, 2014 Share May 17, 2014 don't be naive that minister of transport or mp don't know it is whether they want to do something about it not say complain,,, maybe these is against the fair trading act? anyway should have researched more. Alheych 6th Gear May 17, 2014 Share May 17, 2014 don't be naive that minister of transport or mp don't know it is whether they want to do something about it as the toa payoh vandals have shown us, the government can catch a mosquito if they want to. the key word here is IF they want to. nazerath Turbocharged May 17, 2014 Share May 17, 2014 (edited) ya very effective in arresting the vandals. ya lah, what to do. The coe like that jiatlat. most people pay for coe end up have less money for cars and the running of it. in the end, some of those who buy cars end up buying cars which are smaller and lighter to save money on fuel and cash. My grievance is that if wanna control car populations, at least allow heavy rebates or preference on those cars with the highest in the crash test rating to have a larger advantage. I have spent a lot of years overseas and returned not long ago and it is sad to see that some of the tiny cars that are driven here will really suffer in an event of a collision after so much have been paid for them. Most of which would have driven a larger and heavier car if they can. Why isn't road user safety part of the consideration when designing the coe? Not that big is safer. but larger and heavier cars gives you a bigger distance from the point of impact and some of these cars the 1000 or little above ones are really small.. I know this thought of mine is useless to say but just have to get it off my chest. anyway, what a lovely sunday. Matrix0405 5th Gear May 18, 2014 Share May 18, 2014 why dealer offer cheap and sometime "unrealistic" price because they want to lock the buyer for 3 months. if coe dive, they win if coe skyrocket, they lose nothing by not bidding they will bid for new buyer who is willing to pay more for coe Agree. This 3mth lock in is not a fair deal for consumers. All the advantages are to the dealers. Some dealers are pushing the envelop to 8 bids. It is about time Case or LTA step in. Hopefully some AMDK or foreigners will complain so things can get moving.
Wt_know Hypersonic May 18, 2014 Share May 18, 2014 yalor ... i feel 2 bids is fair ... if you can't get it this round ... next bid die die must get else deal is off anyway, only japanese/korean dealer do this kind of trick la ... all conti dealer 99% can get coe in 1st bid hahaha ... need AMDK to complain then things can move ehh ... lol Agree. Kusje Supersonic May 18, 2014 Share May 18, 2014 I wanted 2 bids and was offered 4 bids. You still had the choice of walking away. Honestly, the most ideal situation is for the consumer to decide on the price he wants to bid for the COE - whether or not the dealer or consumer places the bid is irrelevant.
