Very likely if Malaysia still do not see politikal stability by year end. Good for sg. For those planning year end holiday in M'sia they will get to enjoy the good exchange rate.

It is 3.18 now as MAS strengthened SGD about 2 days ago.

If Malaysia increases its interest rate again, the exchange rate may drop back.

if Bank Negara continue to raise rates ... tiktoker says one ... jit ba boom ...

Try not to change on weekend cos market not “open” and spreads are naturally wider

Maybe they need a bigger buffer over the weekend but it is still ridiculously far from the interbank market, which is at 3.22.

Yap.  There is usually a markup of 2% during weekend regardless of YouTrip or Amaze.

I don’t have much experience in Malaysian properties but if buying in good areas in KL or Penang should be ok but they ain’t that cheap if you want an expat staying ……… Locals cannot afford and later your apt habis ( history) 😫

that's the problem investing in a country where it's FX lost to SGD over time ... 1:4 ... slowly but surely?

They used to be very competitive but guess they got greedy. The last round I bought some MYR from them, it was 300 pips off the market and on a weekday. I can understand the need to make some money, but spread of close to 300 from mid rate is really excessive. Up down 600 pips.

Luckily we now have Youtrip.
