no need to drop below 60k, just drop 2 or 3k alr got many people rushing to showroom.

singaporeans see a bit of wind blow grass move will react disproportionately. that's why the expected correction never came.

Yes.there can never be major correction

swee swee, 1Jun Vesak Day, run promo over long weekend, 2 days' before next bidding, school holidays somemore

... buyers beware ??

Very true. They will lower the current price by $2K - $3K and start to promote last chance to beat the CEVS. For those buyer sitting on the fence, some of them will rush in cause in their mind, they might be thinking that the car is cheaper by $7K - $8K as compare the now.

If it only drop to around 60K - 65K by Jul, then the price will still be the same as of now as the $5K CEVS will cover back the drop in the COE.

But your 10 year depreciation will be $5k less as you will get $5k more when you scrap your car.

of course.... future value of $5k, bring to now will be quite small only.

You only get back 50% of that at the end (i.e. $2.5K).

Will affect depreciation values slightly though.

Since COE is flat 10% per year but CEVS affect ARF, which depreciate at like... 5% per year right? So actually depreciation better if lower COE higher ARF I think?

Yes. For $5K CEVS rebate, you actually only lost $2.5K as the other $2.5K will be given back to you in the ARF. But the issue is you got to come out this $5K first before you can take back the $2.5K which is 10 years later.

CEVS is AD profit margin ... that's all ... muahahaha

CEVS also make you want to cry when you look at your car minimum PARF benefit.

(edited)

As a follow up to my observation previously.

1) There are 2,351 bids in the latest bidding, compare with 2,891 bids. It means booking from the Car Expo and the led up to the CEVS changes have been largely fulfilled. Still outstanding is the CNY bid. Most of those buyers, will have their deposit return by their respective ADS -- IE Borneo Motors and Eurokars as Mazda3 and Toyota Altis is the 3 top car sold this year.

2) The correction come much earlier than my estimate in 2nd bidding in Jun. Next bidding, buyers will still sit out to see how much lower it will go in the next bid in Jun. I won't be surprise the correction will be bigger than $2-3k.

3) If you see the bidding pattern.... The prices technically start around $60k. So the $60k level will hold in the short term.

4) I believe AD/PI will absorbs some of the CEVS offset in the coming month. So if you willing to wait until July, I think you will get a better price then. Caveat Emptor.

CEVS is AD profit margin ... that's all ... muahahaha

Not enuf mojo to praise

Totally Agree !

AD will offer some CEVs offset package but it is all priced into the COE which they eventually will be willing to bid for you.

Eg) If before new CEV, max COE AD is willing to bid is 65k (unknown to clients). With new CEVs & AD's CEV rebate, max COE wld be 63k. There is no way AD will want to co-pay the CEV with the client.

here, I help you praise... [grouphug]

Depends on the AD right... some of them just use the CEVS to improve their margin... dunno which of them actually pass the saving to the customer...

And if CEVS is supposed to be incentive for us to buy a eco-friendly car (I encourage this), why does it take away our scrap value? Should be flat cash back or something to the consumer instead of reduce our PARF.

When I see the Lexus CT200h with a PARF rebate of like only $7k... :a-bang:

If i have an existing car to sell, does it mean that the small corrections (ard 5k) shld not affect my decision to purchase a new car now?

Say e.g. my existing car resale value is 25k , when coe falls by 5k, the resale valur of my car drops by ard that amt too?

If you renew coe for 5 years, what COE level are you looking at before you go in to buy new?

what about TC's QQ ? ... was also very popular Jan, Feb.

when I asked in Feb, stock for many colours already scheduled for Jun delivery

I am guessing for popular models, orders in Mar likely already scheduled for Jul delivery & new CEVs would apply. Thus ADs are just not bidding aggressively now, waiting for COE to drop, then securing lower COE to maintain / achieve target profit margin.

... I think...

$50k - 1/4 will storm into showroom

$40k - 1/2

$30k - 3/4

$20k - ...4/4/

$10k..... 0/4..... everybody waiting for COE to become $10. [laugh]

No...10k can buy 2 cars 😂😂
