This friend bought the 2l Mz6?  Should've gone for the 2.5l if he wanted more power.

if mazda 6 i would sure go for the 2.5 wagon version

sibei swee and nice drive. very sporty looking and lotsa gadgets. only thing i didn't like was the price. just didn't seem value for money.

not sure if anyone tried the Teana. very very very comfy. even compared to conti cars like merc and bmw. ride is very quiet and suspension is great. but more of a passenger car than a driver car. abit of a boring drive. personally liked it a lot more than the camry. felt very premium.

camry is as usual. boring, reliable. spacious. plus the much praised toyota reliability. price a bit higher than teana but now got promo. buy the 2L free upgrade to 2.5L. so quite worth. inside looks a bit dated to me personally.

S60. interior felt cramped and very dated somehow. didn't enjoy the test drive actually. and i have concerns on the reliability of maintenence since my family side had bad experieince with volvo.

if u call just throwing money at an F1 team so they put ur company name on their cars as "having an F1 team",

then yes Infiniti has F1 team.

Red Bull also has a F1 team.....opps....they are not a car manufacturer?  They sell energy drink?

Mz6 sedan 2.5L if the price is good can consider.

Teana is ok. Boring like hell, won't go wrong. Suspension very comfort based compared to the accord or even camry.

I only sat in the S60. Felt the rear headroom better in the V60. Interior is the usual vovo interior.

Agreed on the passenger and rear seats. Teana is most comfortable after vovo.

For driver, don't think so. Cos Honda can adjust everything, it can adjust lumbar back rest level.

I didn't like the Teana headrest cos it's headrest allows u to only rest on a point. I prefer the whole back of the head leaning into the headrest. But it's just me.

Teana is a good buy for the family.

Thanks for the sharing!

Any pain in maintaining the two drives?

The 3 series was first batch of E90. There was a host of electrical gremlins. Nothing major but irritating all the same. Mostly sensor issues. Some of the plastic used in the interior is inferior. The Z4 is relatively trouble free. Possibly because it was made in Germany iirc.

Overall speaking, Japanese cars have less problem than continental makes. The Honda Crossroad gave me 3 years of trouble free motoring and took all the abuses from Singapore to Thailand.

Mz6 2.5 is a nice drive for a Japanese and best looking especially in red. Bad points are the small cabin, and the engine has to be revved hard to get it going.

Volvo S60 is a good buy at today's. But the maintenance cost is high if go back to Wearnes, and resale value low. Resale not an issue if you intend to drive for 10 years.

Q50 shares same engine as Merc E250 which is a turbo 4 with good low end torque and fuel economy. Question is whether there are 3rd party workshops who can do Infiniti otherwise you will be paying premium for repairs throughout lifespan. And resale wont be good either.

Honda Accord is as good as Mz6, if not even better in the space, and drive departments, even with the 5-spd autobox.

However the end-of-life E-class is the best buy in the space, grace and pace stakes. Do not take the published price at face value. Arrange test drive and see the entire price proposal put forth by the SE. Over 10 years, it won't cost very much more to won over a Q50 or Accord 2.5

Q50 got the same headrest problem as Teana... can't adjust the tilt of the headrest.

Teana would be quite shiok if they still have a smaller CC V6, like they used to for the Cefiro.

I fine the jazz's lumber support lacking. N the headrest tilts too much forward. Sounds ridiculous. But my getz had a more comfy, supportive sit with a headrest i can lean back on.

Write up claims that the skyactiv 6at has super high lock-up of up to 90%...the most direct feel automatic next to a self shifting dct...

Honda's at is limited to 5, because of the design. The gears are not arranged in a planetary set up. Thats why when others go 6,7,8..honda still at 5. Not sure whats the advantage of honda's set up. Iirc, the gears are arranged inline or sort off. However, this setup makes it easy for them to engineer the still in process 8dct with torque converter.

Hmm...maybe i should go mod my sit n headrest. Will pass inspection bor..haha

ah their zero gravity concept.

Lol the TC SE convince me to turn the headrest around... then I'm like ... buy a 140k car to do things like this  [:p]

To put things into perspective, if it were to be your last car, which one of the 3 will you pick and why?

Mz 6 - Out. Cos nothing fanciful or diff from any cars out there and far too common.

S60 - Out - Cos interior is outdated and I will survive in it for 10 years.

Q50 - In - Cos of its technology, RWD and Bose system. Most imptly, the world first production Direct Adaptive System and a rare breed in Singapore.

Q50 discount off list price quite a bit

Still playing the devils advocate.

Seems like they knock off at least 25k off the listed price.

Q50 about 170k for sport? Ok let's take the C200 Avant Garde as comparison.

The C200 avant garde line after all the discount and service credit etc is about 200k.

So depreciation of the former is about 15.5k while the merc is at 17.5k. Difference 2k.

Difference still about 30k at most but partly cos the OMV of the merc is higher by about 10k.

No service credits for the Q50? If that is the case, in 3 years the servicing costs will add up another 3-5k probably? Bridging the gap between the Q50 sport and C200 avant garde line to about 25k.

Resale value is a big question mark. People here are sold on Lexus. Infiniti may get there but more likely your COE run out first. I dunnoe.

Got 3 friends who bought q50. No complain so far and prob the quietest among the 3. But again, they had it for a few months only so hard to conclude. Got another sold his mz6 within a year. Complained about noise and lack of bhp. Another s60 sold away within a year too. No idea why though. In terms of reliability, i do not know which to choose though im looking at q50...

New mz6 facelift 2015 version have improve the sound insulation. Is much better now

Then probably the Infiniti because:

1) There is no worry about re-sale value

2) We all eventually get to ride a Volvo anyway

Just parent company Renault pushing their "premium" brand, killing two birds with one stone. Renault, anyway, take advantage for their own brand by providing F1 inspired models with Infiniti also in a position of using the team.

Doesn't matter if the money comes out the left pocket or right, to your wife what's hers is hers and what's yours is hers.
