I also have 3 sets. 1 for me 1 for wife and 1 for my father. Change also good la. Now we can see if the screen really easy to scratch like in those youtube videos or not lo. Now I just treat my phone like my old phone already. Time to change just change. Dropped it twice. Holding up well so far. Once face down and once on the corner. Screen still perfect, but top left corner got a tiny dent in the metal part.
Sabian Turbocharged September 4, 2016 Share September 4, 2016 Was at Samsung Svc Ctr earlier. They are just taking down owner record/ IMEI and issuing you the same form in return. They will inform a later course of action at a later point in time but you will need this form to be given either a new set or batt/ mb replacement. It is not confirmed if they will issue new sets or replace the batt/mb.

Sabian Turbocharged September 4, 2016 Share September 4, 2016 You mean we must go to the service Centre to register for an exchange? Yup. That's pretty much what they advised when I popped in to ask them and also pretty much what they did when I took a q number. Filled a form and was assigned a q number at the counter near the entrance. Waited for my turn, they took the form and confirmed the imei on the phone and returned me a copy of the form and the phone. Advised me that there will be an announcement made within 3 weeks or sooner on the next step (either replacement set or repair).

Jman888 Moderator September 5, 2016 Share September 5, 2016 Exchange Note 7 for S7 Edge, sorry only in US Samsung Electronics announces exchange offer for Galaxy Note 7 with Galaxy S7 Edge or S7 In addition, affected customers will also receive a $25 credit on their phone bill or an equivalent gift card. By: FE Online | Published: September 4, 2016 After Samsung Electronics recalled Galaxy Note 7 smartphones due to a flaw in its battery, the company has now announced that it will offer its users an exchange offer, where they can swap their Galaxy Note 7 with Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge in the coming week. In addition, affected customers will also receive a $25 credit on their phone bill or an equivalent gift card. The recall came just over two weeks after the company launched the phone. It follows reports of the 988,900 won ($885) phone igniting while charging. “Samsung is taking a proactive approach to address customer needs around the Note 7,” Tim Baxter, president of Samsung Electronics America said in a statement. “To date (as of September 1) there have been 35 cases that have been reported globally and we are currently conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market,” said Samsung in a statement. Apple is expected to launch its new iPhone next week and this can also hit Samsung’s business. Strategy Analytics said the combined cost of the recall and lost sales would lop $5 billion off Samsung’s smartphone revenue this year and cut smartphone profit margin by 1.5 percent. Samsung had launched its flagship device, Galaxy Note 7 in India in August and was priced at Rs 59,900, but due to global complaints of exploding devices, the sale has been delayed. Piyopico Supercharged September 5, 2016 Share September 5, 2016 Talked to their conceige service and understand that for Singapore, an announcement will be made regarding the details of the recall. It will be voluntary and a one for one exchange for all local sets so there is no need to register.

Its kinda weird thats its voluntary seriously The guy told me over the counter that some people still take the phone, they think its ok To me, this is serious enough for them to do global recall and people are still willing to take chances
ins1dious Turbocharged September 5, 2016 Share September 5, 2016 ok... before this whole total recall of Note7's hit the news... it was all about it's performance... or lack of it. Many of the commentators and Samsung apologists pointed out that it was unfair to compare the Note 7 with an iPhone 6S as one was 2k resolution and the other was 720p (??)... while conveniently ignoring the fact that the Note7 had an octacore and double the RAM. The reasons why it failed versus an almost year old phone is just because Samsung didn't optimise it properly. It's just a shitty device with a crap UI and terrible RAM management when stuff from Moto or One+ or vanilla Android works well. Anyway, to put things to bed... that phonebuff fella did another speed test with the Note7... this time the test done with it's 2k resolution and the option for running on 720p https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBIPU8aCCgE

Samsung's ram management has always been very bad la. S7e also had very bad ram management when it was just launched but it was solved by a firmware update. Hopefully, the note 7's ram management problems can be solved soon. Anyway, all these speed tests don't really matter to the average consumer. It isn't really noticeable in day to day usage.
Wt_know Supersonic September 5, 2016 Share September 5, 2016 (edited) disagree it is very noticeable using iphone and android devices especially when you have many applications opened and switching app web surfing in mobile site ie MCF ... iphone safari is so much faster than android browser not to mention apps ... ios apps also faster than android apps ... i mean comparing the same apps the new iPhone7 A10 chipset will be another game changer ...
