Latest note software upgrade limit your charging to 60%. Saw their notice at suntec week. No service for.screen protector. Getting too complacent and cutting on service. They better wake up.

can't find the settings to change to 80%. Can u give some details? much appreciated.

In settings, go to device maintenance, battery, click the three dots at the top right corner and go to advanced settings. From there, can disable the 60% limit, but it only lets you charge to 80%.

60~80% sounds like a bandage, hardly a fix.

Sorry, I would probably sit this one out.

It is for those phones that have not been exchanged yet. Supposed to make the battery less likely to catch fire and at the same time force people to return their note 7 for a new one. If you are buying a note 7 once it is relaunched, it won't have this problem.

The latest update will tell you if your phone is the safe one or the defective one. Defective ones will have the limited battery life, safe ones will get the green battery icon in the notification bar.

Best is to hear from people in SG who have gotten their replacement units.

Got my replacement unit and both have no problems so far. Performs identically to the unexchanged one in my case.

Samsung is nice to see, but hardware quality is questionable.

I had a Samsung Windows Phone before, great phone, super stable and fast. But, the screen died a sudden death one day after warranty.

:XD:

really? you referring to the Omnia?

i got one too. it still boots up nicely today. problem is, can't find the replacement battery, and my current batt can't hold charge longer than 30 mins. that is why i had to give that baby up!

LOL .... I still have my Omnia with me too! And it still works!

My pre-exchanged set has no problems. The exchanged set works even better - charges and runs cooler. And I like the little green battery icon.

How did you verify its original or not? I bought one for my note 4 recently thinking its original. Packaging also looked original. But android pay didn't work when using that battery so I guess no NFC which means fake.

Buying online, look for retailers indicating its original and spend some time reading buyers' review. I know it sounds shallow but retailers will be penalized if they do false advertising. Finding a reputable seller works for me.

Am not familiar with Android pay, but isn't NFC build-in on the phone? I believe Samsung had the nfc antenna build in with the battery. That could be damaged. If seller claim it's original, request for an exchange.

Requested for exchange but then required to ship back to the seller before I can get a replacement/refund. End up just keeping it and using it without NFC cuz singpost doesn't allow shipping of batteries and using other methods to ship would cost alot.

I think its the battery problem cuz my android pay still works when used with my other batteries.

i wanted to. haven't gotten around to try some of the methods that others have done.

LoL.

that is one bad ass phone that is tough! and the camera is really good too.

not much grips except for lack of games and consumer apps.

but for daily use like emails, calendar, camera and phone calls, that is a really steady phone.

one of the best from Samsung IMHO.

Some Samsung Note7 phones needed second swop; replacement sets found to overheat

.....

A small number of these consumers even had to exchange the phones twice - after replacements were found to overheat and rapidly drain power while being charged.

Two consumers told The Straits Times that they had to swop their phones again over the weekend. Another five to 10 consumers posted similar complaints about their newly exchanged phones on Samsung Mobile Singapore's Facebook page.

Same Song... Song Song....

Big screen, power hungry processor, eat electricity like elephant drinking water.

Don't think it can be used as a GPS. As you drive and charge, the battery will deplete faster than it can charge.

This phone not that smart actually.

once bitten, twice shy

why get another note 7 or even s7? [sly]
