ins1dious Turbocharged October 1, 2016 Share October 1, 2016 Lol someone must have really damaged the battery during handling? I agree, can't compare. Which is odd because this case style has been the same for over two years now. And in that period... Apple has sold on an average 200m iPhones every year. Same case, probably similar handling. Only difference is a battery <10% larger. ↡ Advertisement

Kb27 Supersonic October 5, 2016 Share October 5, 2016 ‘Fixed Samsung Galaxy Note 7' causes fire on plane A replacement Samsung Galaxy Note 7 device, deemed safe by the firm, has reportedly caught fire on a Southwest Airlines plane. The airline confirmed one of its planes, due to fly from Louisville, Kentucky, to Baltimore, Maryland, was evacuated before take-off on Wednesday. The Note 7 was subject to a mass recall in September, but Samsung said it had identified and fixed the problem. Samsung said it was investigating. "We are working with the authorities and Southwest now to recover the device and confirm the cause," the company said in a statement. "Once we have examined the device we will have more information to share." http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-37570100

Victor68 Turbocharged October 6, 2016 Share October 6, 2016 I got mine changed, so far so good. But I dont have an issue with the previous one also. Just point off interest when inlook at the photo of the burnt phone. Battery is mounted on the back but burn is on the led screen? Back cover ok? Good to investigate why. Maybe it was not just about the battery. Maybe it was a design issue that caused the battery to short-circuit. Something like a stray wire or conductor that shift around and may cause short-circuit when the phone is placed in a certain position. Anyway, I'm just guessing. Doubt so, opened my note 7 before exchanging for a new one. Build quality inside was very good. Everything was held down tightly either by glue or screwed down properly. No loose parts inside. Anyway, this might just be a one off thing.

Nzy Twincharged October 6, 2016 Share October 6, 2016 How is this a one-off? This is the 2nd or 3rd fire incident involving replaced Note7 with the safe black square marking on the box... The other 2 incident from China don't know real or not. They don't even want to let Samsung take the phone for investigations. And it came from the same source as the other cases which Samsung say were deliberately heated up to make them burn. This latest one let Samsung bring back the phone to investigate so more likely to be true la.

Good to investigate why. top of my mind, N7 has a glass backing which has a higher melting point compared to the internals of the phone which are mainly plastic and are more flammable. You can see that the screen is burnt through from the inside which make sense to me. SS should just vac seal the whole internal. No air = no fire. Ben5266 Supercharged October 7, 2016 Share October 7, 2016 Haha his father is the richest man in china. Wanda's boss. During my consultations, I've noticed there are a lot of people with 2 phones. Either they use it for work, or a lot of people have xiao 3 It is common lah. 1 is for work/business. 1 is for personal/leisure. 1 is for lucky draw.... Wat is $1200? Go dinner with family easily $300 per session of 2 hours. $1200 for 8 hours. But a $1200 iPhone can be used for how many hours or pleasure?

It seems it contains enough oxygen molecules internally to continue burning, even in a vacuum, due to the highly volatile electrolyte. ↡ Advertisement
