Evillusion Supersonic November 12, 2016 Share November 12, 2016 Occupied two lanes for sure. I saw the digital signboards (the ones that hang over the road). I figured if it was this horrible a jam it must have been really serious and take extra long to clean up. I had my suspicions it could have been something fatal. Sucks to be right, I guess. RIP to the deceased. Esteema problem? Most prob car pronlem....too much Esteem mar....
Carbon82 Moderator November 12, 2016 Share November 12, 2016 I find after they 'renovate' this junction, cause confusion to many motorists, at least to me. Iirc, there was a fatal accident between a bus and motorbike years back... No really that confusing and the changes has been made >5 years already, shouldn't be any issue for most driver. the black car just turn out wo signalling wor.. n estima already in the lane.. Very good case study for me.. Brains??? omg de...! The brain is another accident on AYE towards MCE. The photos I posted is for the accident at Jurong Town Hall Road towards Bukit Batok. Lucky no injury. Yes brains! The skulll cracked like a walnut and the head was flattened Have the pics and not nice to post here RIP Someone sent me the photo of the AYE accident last night and Yiu are right, all crushed and almost flattened.

drivers 2nd Gear November 12, 2016 Share November 12, 2016 (edited) Looks like Asstima was hoping to impose it's big size upon the Accord to scare it from changing lane but realize too late (judging from late brake lights) to avoid collision. A typical tactic by big MPV to bulldoze their way around based on their size. Don't play punk when you do not have the necessary reflexes (or braking power) to do so. The Accord may bear majority if not all the fault as onus is on the vehicle changing lane to check safety. 70/30 claim. BanCoe Hypersonic November 12, 2016 Share November 12, 2016 The other day I had rain that was so heavy it was foggy, so I did turn on my rear foglamp. Most of the conti cars I believe come with rear fogs these days, but the Japanese cars probably still don't. Dunno about Malaysia. But I find using hazards too ambiguous mostly so I wouldn't recommend it since hazards aren't necessarily more visible than the normal tail lights. As for rear foglamps looking like reverse lights, I think it's unlikely because rear fogs are brighter red (than tail lights) and with newer cars they're one sided. OIC - i tot the fog lights are like the "additonal lights" , yes now that you explain to me i realised my Ford Mondeo had them but I hardly ever used them ; Yes they are "bright" like brake lights been on like of look;

Good that you don't find that junction confusing Bro. Was only hoping no more fatal accident happening there and all of us gets home safe and sound, and not caught in any unnecessary jams. Mcf777 Turbocharged November 12, 2016 Share November 12, 2016 Huh, nowadays many cars have stock rear fog lamps... I voted with my hands and legs. Always saw CHERRY Brand with rear fog lamp very satki. From far can see.
7hm Turbocharged November 12, 2016 Share November 12, 2016 (edited) Since on the subject of foglamps, I wanna remind those who have rear ones to not use them except in such extreme rain conditions. I still see them being used sometimes in clear weather... most often by SMRT Prius cabs... Except maybe if you wanna warn some bugger behind you to stop tailgating... lol Edited November 12, 2016 by 7hm
Theoldjaffa Hypersonic November 12, 2016 Share November 12, 2016 Please don't use rear fog lamps. They are very glaring to the driver behind. There's anti glare rear view mirrors but not windscreens

I agree that hazard lights should be used for only one purpose - hazard warning. Quite few are using it indiscriminately. Taxi drivers are one of the main culprits. They will switch it on if they see a prospective customer and then speed off if it is not. They seem to use their hazard lights more than their indicator lights. Labelling them as stupid is too much of a praise for them. I think fog lamps are available on most cars. It;'s only the drivers who don't know how to turn them on as they probably don't bother to read the manual. Even if the vehicle don't have fog lights, switching on the headlights is normally sufficient for the type of rain storms we get in Singapore. I did encounter extremely heavy rain storm whiole travelling on the NSH where the hazard light were helpful. Visibility can be so bad that you can only follow closely the blinking lights in front of you. Overtaking or lane changing is extremely difficult due to the low visibility.
Philipkee Twincharged November 12, 2016 Share November 12, 2016 (edited) I actually feel that the hazard lights should be on when visibility is very poor like heavy rain because 1) you want to increase visibility of the car and rail lights might be insufficient 2) all drivers approaching you must assume you are a hazard or stopping even ifor you are in middle Lane. 3) you have to be moving at a very slow speed like a crawl because visibility is so bad. If you are still at normal speed you are suicidal and dangerous 4) you should not be changing lanes if your hazard lights are on because it is too dangerous. If you need to change lanes then off the hazard lights but if there is no pressing need, don't because it is too dangerous. I don't think anyone will accuse you of road hogging when you are slow because in a heavy rainfall everyone is crawling. Unless you do that during a drizzle or light to moderate rain....... That said the hazard lights are for situations when visibility is so bad that you feel it is unsafe to drive normally and you need to warn drivers to keep a distance from you. Normally they should but if everyone did that there would have been no accidents also. Of course there are other uses for the lights but I just write specifically for the use of them during heavy rainfall. Hamburger Hypersonic November 12, 2016 Share November 12, 2016 One of the stupidest thing to do is to turn on hazard light in a heavy rain. Try imaging cars that surrounds you in 3 or 5 lanes all turn on hazard lights and you think it's Christmas already and that you are driving through a Christmas tree.

Ktglfc Hypersonic November 12, 2016 Share November 12, 2016 Found that quite a few drivers didn't signal when changing lane ... witness 2 drivers whom nearly side-swiped mine today, and gave them a good warning horn ... Come on, signal before changing ... so lazy to even move your finger to move the signal?! Be considerate, be safe and everyone happy and safe on the roads :)
7hm Turbocharged November 12, 2016 Share November 12, 2016 Today I had a lorry give way to me when I was trying to get out of a turning lane with an impatient person behind horning me... I did flash hazards once. Dunno if that really is interpreted as a thank you.

Drivers who on hazard lights during heavy rain is only saying one thing - I'm incapacitated by heavy rain but I refuse to stop for safety because it's inconvenient for me. So the whole world should suit my abnormal driving for my own convenience. ↡ Advertisement
