Sorry to correct, 5 year warranty, servicing 1 year.

 

Where else Mazda CX5 offering 3 year servicing and if take 1 year servicing, deduct 2k off.

CX-5 servicing is damn expensive, almost like my previous BMW, I would not expect BM to charge similar for Harrier.

Fyi:

It's 5 years warranty if you take the Premium

7 years warranty if you take the Luxury (add 7k)

 

Both come with 1 year free servicing (which is 4 times: 1k, 5k 10k, 20k). After that is 10k intervals on your account unless it's warranty item.

Wah didn't know CX-5 servicing that expensive. I asked SE re Harrier servicing and they said slightly more than Camry.

Yes I remember CX-5 they said 3 yrs free servicing. 

Warranty: 3 years or 100k km.

But I didn't know about the minus 2k if take out year 2 and year 3 service. 

 

I thought CX-5 cannot make it compared to Harrier...weaker, noisier engine but sharper steering and handling.  Back too cramped for us. No moonroof (i think).

 

Harrier stereo system sucks big time...sounds just terrible.  And no blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert...no a big deal but considering they loaded it up with practically everything else....

 

I loved the handling, power and general drive of the Forester...but inside haiz...cannot have everything this side of $150k...

 

Just my personal preference...each car will attract drivers according to own preference...

There's no point taking a seven year warranty unless you are prepared to service there all the way..

Don't scare me leh .. I off all the sound during test drive, so never really got a feeling of its sound system...

Yah man, seven years warranty basically mean you have to go back to them for servicing for seven fricking years....damn.

 

But having said that, I do have friends who bring their toyotas back to BM for servicing even after warranty end.

I pretty always bring cars back to agents for services even after warranty expire.

Don't quite buy into Mazda's method of "discount". It's a false sense of economy. Servicing is part & parcel of car ownership esp during the warranty period so how does one 'omit' that cost away?

Yeah, if one year's worth of servicing is worth 2k, that gives you an idea of the cost of servicing it.. Not too far from the Conti level..

That is true. But wonder why cap at 180. Direct imports form japan i understand. But if is made for Singapore...though usually it should be 220 or 240 shown.

The soft touch and build of the CX 5 is probably a bit better, but I recall a post about how the materials will feel in 5 years, and you don't see many people complaining about creaks, rattles and poorly fitting panels in Toyotas, less premium materials not withstanding, so IMO, the Harrier should feel as sturdy at the end of the COE.

About 10 years back, Borneo quoted me $500 for skimming me brake rotor. I did it at outside workshop $80. It was smooth all the way till I scrap that car. I will only go to Borneo during warranty.

Yes, that only works if the first buyer has been diligently doing his/her servicing at Borneo..

Nowadays, the dealers try hard to find fault if you don't go back to them. YMMV

Bro, I donno if BM has double standard for Toyota and Lexus.....with my 5 year warranty and 5 years free service, I was told you just drive in and the rest will be taken care of.
