Heartlander Turbocharged July 30, 2017 Share July 30, 2017 Why would I want to do that? I am still waiting to sell my CX-5 when the Harrier arrive. I have owned CX-5 since release. KNN, come to think of it, I should tell you guys only after I sold the car! Maybe other CX-5 owners could confirm your claim that every servicing cost $800 to $900. Very easy to find out if you are truthful. Not to say you are not truthful. Just to let you know that it is very easy to find out if you are truthful. ↡ Advertisement

I couldn't careless what you think, I am just telling it as it is, that's my experience anyway. My mileage is very low, 7,000km a year and I sent my car in once a year. Usually they should make noise if you don't come in for protection money twice a year. Maybe that's why they combine the charges for both intervals into your 1 visit... haha
Fat_slayer 4th Gear July 31, 2017 Share July 31, 2017 Do agreed on your view. Toyota somehow stubborn to change the traditional design mindset. Their gear stick can never match that of Audi which I feel they got the best design. Decade ago, Camry is a popular car on the road but now u hardly can find one. Because their resistance to change has made this model unpopular. To match Audi is a bit far stretched looking at their current design which is still lagging behind the Asian counterparts. But as long as their sales volume speak for themselves, it's all that matters.
therock Supersonic July 31, 2017 Share July 31, 2017 I agree the cabin isn't as 'cool' as some conti brands, but hey think of the corolla : Toyota buyers aren't known for wanting such things... the Toyota buyer probably does to join this forum. The majority just buy and use :)

Toyota simply sells the car that their buyers want. It's that simple. 400 cars so far? Well you can tell most of the buyers don't come here. They pick up the car, and drive it, replacing the last Toyota they were driving. No questions on rattles, dysfunctional parts, lousy service or warranty issues. They don't mod much, so you won't need to ask if the warranty will be void. The FC is decent, and you don't have issues with booking appointments for service. That's what a Toyota buyer expects.

I would also like to see innovative design but I guess can't have everything at this price point. While this is not a budget car, it's also not luxury one by traditional standards. Not that Toyota cannot do nice interior, just look at the LC 500.
Cikgoo 1st Gear July 31, 2017 Share July 31, 2017 seen a few NX200T on the road and i kind of think it looks narrower from the back compared the the Harrier. Somehow the Harrier's design shape grows more on you... But the RX200T looks sharper and nicer than the NX200T
therock Supersonic July 31, 2017 Share July 31, 2017 That NX looks like it's around the same size as the HRV actually... which shows you how well designed the HRV and it has solid space utilisation. Just don't ask about sound insulation and how thick the metal is..

Just don't ask about sound insulation and how thick the metal is.. based on spec dimension, NX is more than 30cm longer than HRV but about 10 CM shorter than harrier. Width wise it is slightly wider(1cm) than harrier but not noticiatble. Edited July 31, 2017 by Ct3833

Glad to see that you have gotten the ride of your choice and that you are at peace. Enjoy your new ride! As with all things in life, once decided, got to move on. More excitement lies ahead.

Two weeks ago I was told that if I ordered, the Harrier can be delivered closer to end of Dec, just wonder if so, meaning no more stock for year 2017? Harrier will have VES surcharge from Jan 2018 according to SE. Hi Ahyoo2002, No man, still hoping for getting the COE this Wednesday and had asked to pay SGD2k for guaranteed COE but SE says no need ... seems MI is quite aggressive with 2nd bid 2 week ago at around sgd 49k+ and just missing the final COE premium 50.001k by sgd800+ despite 2nd of the 8 non-guarantee deal ... Btw, I order the FXT just in case you got me wrong due to the long post. Indeed strange on VES surcharge from Jan 2018 for the Harrier Turbo as I had double confirmed with my SE in BM before I requested for the SGD3k deposit to be refunded that Harrier Turbo will NOT have VES surcharge but learned bros looking at details of emission etc. also seems divided. This is bad news for new Harrier Turbo buyer but will means that MI may then still offer the new Forester 2019 affected by same VES surcharge in totally new platform from Sep to Dec 2018 ... it is now with updated conti-like interior and better looking exterior. Cheers. Richard
