Basically cyclists need to moderate the speed when cycling on PCN (<25km/hr) and Pavement <10km/hr like PMD before they were banned.

So only TMCR is the only stretched with dedicated bike lane where cyclists can cycle in excess of 30km/hr or can only ride above 30km/hr on roads.

Then motorists need to know hand signals of cyclists (hopefully all will learn to signal) and more cyclist have better road sense..... common sense is not enough riding on SG roads.

And only plan cycling routes that will no need to navigate to multiple lanes (>5 lanes junction etc...) for right turn.

All delivery companies must ensure all staff must go through training before starting. LTA should legislate a minimum training hours to be given to each rider of such companies, failing which the company will be levied a penalty.

Like financial advisers and property agents are regulated.

After reading so many pages.. I concluded that most people are nice when meeting face to face and comments on cyberspace  are meaner..

ive been a cyclist for close to 5 years now.. never really constantly had issue of facing life danger when cycling on the roads or PCN or pavements, never had issue with other motorists be it cars, vans, lorries, trucks or motorcycles.. maybe I look out and give hand signals and more likely to give way to other vehicles?

usually nobody will pose videos of good behaviours of cyclists, car drivers or pedestrians so give perceptions that most cyclists are damn Jialat.

there are instances of cyclists beating red lights.. yes, same as car drivers and others .  At least I wait at the lights.. can’t control what other idiots do.

They have been an increased in new cyclists who are not sure or clueless.. imagine 20k P plate drivers suddenly swarm the roads.. even experience riders also need to Siam them.

the pay road tax don’t pay road tax thing let’s not argue about this… pedestrian also don’t pay road tax yet also walk. Chill and drive safe, ride safe, walk safe.

Yah....

Road tax is base in engine capacity on ICE or power ratings for electric vehicle.

When I read those FB comments, they don't pay road tax..... Etc...

Probably those millennial and kids that commented don't pay road tax as well 😅

A 150kw car probably pays around $900 road tax a year

An average cyclist probably produce 150w.

So charge each cyclist $0.90 a year to shut those silly people who comment that cyclist should pay road tax.

The problem will be worse should LTA charge road tax and insurance to cyclist.....

More entitled ones will ride all over the lanes.

Same like those who paid road tax having the same entitled thinking... wanted no cyclist on road.
