These cyclists! don't they have any respect for their own lives.

Not only that but car driver prolly have nightmares over this and it will effect driving in future.

So must it be a civil case to get the cyclist to pay up.

In fact in the good ol' days cyclists were encouraged to ride in opposite direction to vehicular traffic so that they can anticipate the situation - though it was not a written law -more of common sense and safety back in the 60's

PUBLISHED: 4:00 AM, MARCH 14, 2017

UPDATED: 10:51 AM, MARCH 14, 2017

On Feb 27, I was taking a walk along the park connector beside Sungei Serangoon at about 6pm when a speeding cyclist hit my back. This happened about 1.5km from Capeview@Hougang towards Punggol. The impact caused me to fall backwards and hit my head on the ground.

I lost consciousness and when I came to, two joggers helped me to get up from the ground. Because I was still quite dazed, I did not say anything to them. As I made my way home, the two Samaritans continued with their evening exercise.

I am now writing to express my appreciation and to sincerely thank them for helping me in my moment of need.

When I reached home, I vomited and was warded in hospital for two days, after a CT scan of my brain showed a linear skull fracture. I was given hospitalisation leave for 30 days after discharge.

By sharing this accident, I also want to appeal to all cyclists and users of personal mobility devices (PMDs) to be mindful of other park users, many of whom are children and seniors, or are pregnant.

I am in my 60s and going back to exercise in the park will no longer be the same again.

I am sure I am not the first victim and wonât be the last, unless and until all our park users behave responsibly and ensure that they do not put other users at risk.

I rarely curse.

But fark that cyclist.

Guess we have plenty of people who cannot take personal responsibility to each own action.

Need to install more CCTV like UK to nab such idiots.

Cycling on the expressway is already wrong but this guy take it to another level, cycling against traffic.

Power la bro!
