Got another idea. Why not paint regulating strips along all bicycle paths like LTA do for cars going round a bend. [grin]

I don't think it will help much cuz it doesn't affect cyclists alot. Infact when I was in primary school, I used to like to go extra fast over these strips. They placed it on the PCN just before the traffic lights. Dunno why but it was fun to me back then to go over the strips very quickly. Lol.

The same way you can get you bike onto the PCN...

they will have entered it from the road beside the marina

Wah! If LTA allow citizen arrest with rewards, this will be an opportunity for at least a part-time work for those unemployed or those seeking extra income. :D

Come to think of it, actually LTA or TP don't need to outsource to Certis Cisco if they allow Citizen Arrest with a certain percentage of the fine given as commission. [:)]

Believe me, it's going to be uncomfortable over the long stretch. :D

One of my friends recently broke his arm when riding on PCN - he was wiped out when a little kid made a sudden turn across the path in front of him

I had a few close encounters with kid cyclists similar to that of your friend's except I wasn't hurt but truly shocked!

How long can they make it. Think it will cost too much.

i remember long ago when i first cycle on ECP, the police stop me and told me no cycling on express way, now every weekend i also see those cyclist cycle in group and occupy one whole lane in West coast highway, why police never catch? and the west coast highway lane is so small, most of the time the container truck got to siam the cyclist and eat into the first lane.

I think at intervals of 100m should be sufficient to deter speedsters. :D .

Or install a few bollards / short posts at intervals of 50m!!

100m too far apart. Will be quite fun to go over them. Probably need to be closer together.

Ok, 50m then. But hor, how can be fun riding over the regulating strips are raised 8mm above road surface? I am referring to strips leh, not humps. The whole bicycle would be shuddering when ridden over the strips. For it to be effective, the distance may be closer at say 60cm. But come to think of it, it would be very expensive to implement as the money would have to come from motorist. Unless bicycles are also made to pay road tax and require compulsory taking the Highway Code test. Hee hee! :D More revenue coming in for Government. [:)]

Full suspension mtb might easily take on the regulating strips...

I see, but suspension cannot fully absorb the vibrations. I know because I have 2 bicycles at home and one of them a mountain bike is with suspensions. Once in a while is bearable but at regular intervals you would be experiencing a physical pain in the arse. [:)]

West Coast Highway is NOT EXPRESSWAY.

Did you set up your suspension properly? I see alot of people riding around without setting up their suspension properly.

Huh! You mean the suspension on bicycles can adjust? Just show how naive I am. [blush]
