I was at Changi village hawker centre during last weekend.

 

There is a very big banner asking cyclist to push their bicycle surrounding the hawker area and those shop houses

 

U can literally see at least 50 to 100 of bicycles cycling in groups. With full gears.

 

Which town council is in charge?

 

Must ask them to take down the banner if they are not going to enforce it.

 

Fine the whole lot of them like in Bedok?

From the video, I think the driver wanted to turn in to the car washing area. The cyclist blocked his path and not able to drive in and horn at them and started shouted at them for blocking the way. The rest is shown in the video..

 

So the driver is pissed off because the cyclist simply think they are king of the road, anyhow stop and park at the petrol station and blocked drivers path who want to go for car wash.

 

 

 

That is correct. That was one side of the story from the stomper.

The whole bunch of cyclists not only blocked the way but did not seem bother to clear the path as if the passage belongs to them.

Very inconsiderate

kena one before, ringing his bell like mad along the pedestrian walkway, I timed myself and strayed into his path when he was about 2 metres away, he no choice but swerve into the small longkang and I "HAHAHA!" at him. [:p]

Maybe the cyclist was thinking no yellow box no talk, ie he's not blocking the driver as "first come first served" unless there's a YBx... [confused]

LOL.... did you follow up pretending to help him get up from the longkang but lose your grip on him and let him fall a second time? :D

 

BTW, what if he's paniced and instead of avoiding you he rode right into you? [sweatdrop] [sweatdrop]

To be fair, the driver also in the wrong as he loses his cool and shouted at them. Should he come out nicely and talk to them, perhaps the cyclist may apologise and make way for him to drive into the car washing area.

 

So both in the wrong, cyclist for blocking the way, driver for losing his cool and shout at them.

He'll be hurting more if he rode into me. He was cursing and swearing but I keh seow,just walked off. This farkers have to be taught a lesson.

From the video, the bunch of cyclists did an illegal entry, thru an exit only path. Then they dismount their bike without consideration that they are blocking cars going to the car wash. Driver lost his cool. And they are all in spandex..

i simply cannot comprehend why those cyclist behaved the way that no people would approve of, especially for many i believe also drive...

usually i will see a whole group of cyclists occupying 1 whole lane in Neo Tiew or LCK area where there are only 1 lane...

or along Thomson Road or Punggol, really inconvenience drivers.

Both sides have to be "more automatic".

 

I try to give more room as I'm overtaking cyclists as they are really unprotected.

 

But cyclists do have to take care of themselves as well. Often I see many of them riding side by side and taking up the whole lane, often in small roads (e.g. 2 lane roads). At Lim Chu Kang areas (bring my kid there on weekends), they can ride near the centre of the 1 way roads and get pissed when cars try to overtake them.

Maybe I m splitting hair, but the first "wrong" was done by the inconsiderate cyclists, so I feel they were the "original" culprits who started it all with physical obstruction, the impatient driver was just reacting to the wrong doing with strong words n emotion.

 

The obstruction was an willful act, any adult would have known it's wrong to block others. When adults do wrong, they must accept the consequences and have no rights to expect tolerance from the victims of the wrong doings. If there's tolerance, it's just their luck / privilege, not rights. :-)

 

If the drive spoke to the cyclists with less strong words, he did well, he deserved the credits.

The more expensive the COE, the uglier the driver becomes.

 

 

 

You may think that.

I couldn't possibly comment.

 

But another way of looking at things is that all car owners pay for access to roads and are subject to a set of rules and laws.

Cyclists do not pay for access to the road and many of them believe there are no rules or laws that they have to follow.
