The authorities need to hammer down hard on the errant ones to deter the rest, like dealing with drug abusers/trafficking.  If not then the problems won't go away.  Most in Sg are like cattle, can't be educated into considerate behaviours.  They only respond to the cattle probe.

When I met Mr Kelvin Phang, the founder of the RIDEnjoy app, it was apt that we both cycled to the appointment at the McDonald’s in Bishan Park.

Me, because I was doing the ground work for an article on how to nudge leisure cyclists to cycle to work, and thought  I should practise what I was going to preach, and cycle to the interview.

I had cycled to work for 8 years previously.

Different pack of riders lah. Can see the gap lah. 

 

The front pack move off from the traffic light when its turned green.  The back pack was just in time to meet the front pack last rider.  The rear pack did not overtake the front pack, otherwise, they will occupy the 2nd lane which is a no no. 

 

I am a driver as well as a cyclist.

Yes, on the weekends, on Mandai Road its literally a traffic jam at the lights for all these roadies 😆

PETALING JAYA: A female clerk has been sentenced to six years’ jail and fined RM6,000 by the High Court in Johor Bahru for reckless driving in connection with the deaths of eight teenagers on modified bicycles, or “basikal lajak”, five years ago.

Sam Ke Ting, 27, was ordered to serve another six months in prison if she did not pay the fine.

She was also disqualified from driving for three years, effective immediately after she completes her prison sentence.

This comes after the prosecution was successful in their second appeal against the Magistrate's Court decision to acquit and discharge Sam Ke Ting (pic), 27, in October last year on a charge of reckless or dangerous driving, resulting in the death of eight cyclists in Jalan Lingkaran Dalam, in Johor Baru, at 3.20am on Feb 18, 2017.
