Most People buy because of the outside Shape & Interior looks...like buy a Mercedes Benz A-Class...just buy for the sake of the "Star"...to many, the "Star" mean,i have arrived.[status].

At least Mazda still a bread n butter make generally. Look at conti luxury brand with bare bone. No park assist, small size rim, no auto sensor headlight rain wiper and no sat nav (got to stick Gps on a windscreen sucker), yet so many out there. All these should be standard in today's term for a luxury make and yet....

Twincharged

Just gone to take a look

Standard mostly sold/booked for this batch, must wait for at least 3 months now especially the popular colors

popular colors for Executive also fully sold

They have priced the car very well in the segment and the car sells by itself

if cat B coe keeps within range of 30k plus minus, sales will be very hot

if coe cat B tanks to 10-20k, maybe people will cross over to buy conti

in 2013, Maz 6 2.0L hits 160k, and 2.5L 180k!

That’s for standard basic model

Exec model do come with keyless entry

I suppose most people buy the Executive trim and not the Standard lar... so the Executive trim has more goodies I suppose... not so barebones...

For SUB 100k for a cat b car, the standard is very good value. Top up 8k for executive while price still good but imo not as value for money as the features increase not so justify the 8k extra. Keyless, head up display, led daytime running lights, bose system. That's about it.

Actually the base model of the M6, is no as bare boned just cos the don't have keyless entry.

I was there last Sat as I was going around showrooms shortlisting my next drive.

Comparing the base model (standard vs executive trim)

  1. No keyless entry but it's still a push start (you only need to lock/unlock the car)
  2. No tech safety feature like blind spot monitoring, HUD, and a few more I can't think off my head
  3. No LED headlights

The rest of the features are the same. Multi-Function Steering wheel, I-stop, auto dim rear mirrors, cruise control, smilar size centre screen, front and back sensors, etc.

I know for that price point, no keyless is a bit weird, I questioned the SE as well. I was using a keyless entry since 2010 on my current KIA forte and I don't see why Mazda cannot have it on their 6. It's a liveable problem but also depends on what an individual wants.

I suppose most people buy the Executive trim and not the Standard lar... so the Executive trim has more goodies I suppose... not so barebones...

Actually I've asked the SE, he mentioned it's 50-50.

As there are some features that some buyers are not so picky. More of the features are standard on both trims and buyers like myself, it don't see why these features are worth the extra $8k.

It's what I call, nice to have, but not required.

I booked standard... really like keyless, bose, windshield projector, but $8k is too high... especially over the threshold $100k.

The safety features like anticollision, speed limit sign recognition, lane departure warning, blind spot detention and pedestrian warning system? Edited by Kenomi

All these even the executive dun have. Only the 2.5 model I think.

These are the reason why i upgrade to executive. I can confirm it is in my car system. Edited by Kenomi

I see. Gives more value to the top up then. Previously when i shopping a year back only 2.5 got blind spot detection

I also got the standard. To me, 8k top up isn’t worth it

At sub 100, standard is a terrific and no-brainer deal. Above 100, then got other car choices to consider.

The only worthy features for the executive is HUD and BSM

However, I still rely on my driving instincts and visual cues for lane change, road safety etc. shouldn’t rely too much on technology

More features to me means more potential for failures. I hardly even use the sat nav or rear view cam or I-stop on my standard. I find the auto dimming mirror irritating too, seems like there is no way to disable it (at night it’s just too dark)

I like old school. Cars nowadays are too feature laden and too complicated for their own good

ya.that's why i said below 100k 2L...forester may be a better value buy.. u get AWD and all the bell and whistle...

i driven both subaru boxer n skyactive cars... subaru engines are superior..

low vibration, stable, low GC bt difficult to service..

above 100k 2l got more choices.

I'm still looking around. Forester is one of the choices but doesn't look that nice as compared to other SUVs. Mazda 6 looks like a good buy. Anybody test drove both Mazda 6 & Civic?
