Manmaster 2nd Gear December 6, 2012 Share December 6, 2012 Holy crapola Jtay and Manmaster, before you even know the cause, what actions they took, actually, any facts at all you start throwing around rubbish like this? Most people wait until they at least know something before rushing to judgement, but I guess you two are so much better than that. What do facts and circumstances matter when you have all you need to know simply from being told their nationality? You are very super duper triple efficient at judging people No matter what the reason is, we must not allow such thing to happen. I don't know why u like to see SG in trouble. If u don't like SG, just get out.

If u don't like SG, just get out. Who said I like to see Singapore in trouble? In fact, just the opposite. Conclusion jumping, supression, bullying, they will bring you far more problems in the long run if you don't deal with them properly. Bullies always end up worse off! And if you don't want to have a reasoned discussion based on facts, why don't you go to somewhere like Stomp where irrational flaming is more welcomed

U got your facts twisted. The real fact is we're a vulnerable small country and we must maintain law & order for the prosperity of SG. we must not allow strike in SG in the first place. That's a fact. U must put the horse in front of the cart, not behind the cart. This is NOT suppression, this is our survival.

They are in major decline. Only reason they aren't bankrupt at least for spain is cos of EU backing. The countries that you mention, 20 yrs later will still be in the doldrums. Singapore will never really be gone. Just become a backwater city with brain drain lor.

If survival can only come about through bullying, mistreatment and surpression, is that the sort of survival you want? Can you name me even ONE society / country that has founded long term success on surpression and exploitation? NOT to say that I think this is what is happening. Jamesc Hypersonic December 6, 2012 Share December 6, 2012 Slavery is a such a terrible thing but if it was allowed I am sure many people here will secretly like it! Maybe outwardly we will condemn it but secretly we would love paying someone to clean our cars and houses really cheap and make them call us Sir and Maam. Or if we own a factory or shop, I am sure we will love paying people peanuts (the real ones) so we can be nice and rich.

If MOM doesn't help u, go to china embassy. Survival is utmost importance to any country. Look at SG, without conscription (national service), u think we can survive till today? we'll be part of malaysia or indo long time ago. are u going to say that SG has no human right because we've NS and NS is a form of suppression/exploitation as u're not given the right to choose to do NS or not? MOM's counter services just shifted to their new premise at Bendeemeer 2 weeks back. What's left at their Havelock building is for the senior management. Maybe the workers don't know and went down to Havelock and then didn't receive any help. So dulan go up the crane and protest!!!

PSP415 Supersonic December 6, 2012 Share December 6, 2012 If the employers are found to have withheld the workers' pay, he should be severely censured and fined by MOM. These people also need to eat and bring home their hard earned money for the family. The method they used is obviously incorrect but i can empathised their action, especially in the light of their having to return to their homeland the following month. Desperate people will not always think straight or make the best or wise decision.....their mitigating factor but incorrect method of airing grievance will still needs to be dealt with by the authority. Think more efforts need to be put in to highlight the various open doors for these foreign workers to bring any grievances in the event that they meet a deadlock with their employers. Manmaster 2nd Gear December 6, 2012 Share December 6, 2012 Oh great! Just heard the news....Minister Lui just said that our transport costs would be going up and the bus drivers' salary increment would be factored into the fare hike....Thanks to those strike supporters! For now, whenever there is any dispute between the company and foreign workers, the foreign workers will strike first before considering other alternatives. I guess that's what the strike supporters want.
PSP415 Supersonic December 6, 2012 Share December 6, 2012 I think if the pay is really too low, then this is the right and good time to adjust the drivers' pay. Whether there will be more future strikes depends largely on how eager the strikers want to spend time in time or risk being sent off prematurely.....illegal strikes, that is. Haiz.....the world is becoming smaller and so many unemployment these days. Even countries went bankrupt and some still hanging on, by a thin thread. It's not always or as rosy as before liao. Safe ride Cheers ↡ Advertisement
