25yrs old drive such expensive car. High chance from rich family. And hope don't because of rich connection and become lenient.

Let's see how it goes. If judge is lenient on this case, then there is a voice of concern and hope higher authorities to step in.

I pre-advance say 1st. [laugh] [laugh]

* Don't want to have a repeat of lexus hit cyclist and argue become lexus driver thought she hit tree brunches and get away with it.

I disagree. Becoz family is rich they can hire expensive lawyer, expensive lawyer will claim the driver suffering from depression and appeal for driver to see expensive professional psychologist. The psychologist will prove in court that the driver is suffering from depression, go drinking session and got drunk. Lawyer will plea for leniency on behalf of driver.

Dun say until like our courts and judiciary system is corrupted. If money can buy a ghost to move the grinding stone, anything is possible.

The most baffling judgement was the newspaper editor(Lim Hong Eng) who got only one day sentence and $2000 fine for killing a pillion rider. Witness say she run red light, using handphone, and did a hit and run.

Judge even went to the extent to say his judgement should not be use as precedent for other cases.

because they can hire good lawyer who know how to fight mah. isn't that what he is saying?

most of the time the law is used to protect people who know how to use it.

That is what I am trying to bring across it. I or in fact many hope that such situations will change and be even more fair playing field instead of having a excellent lawyer that know how to play the game and end result is somewhat there is some doubt on the judge sentence but we all cannot question judge giving sentence. So well..

the accident was caused by a BMW that knocked the lorry from behind

apparently the impact was so great that the lorry flipped, and some poor construction workers were flung into the big longkang beside PIE

really hope he will be jailed, and not just fined and kantong license only

SINGAPORE: Nine people were injured in an accident between a car and a lorry on Sunday on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE).

The accident occurred at about 8am along the PIE towards the direction of Tuas near the Jurong West Avenue 1 exit.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said four ambulances and one support vehicle were at the scene.

Police said the nine injured were the lorry driver and his passengers. At least three of them required immediate surgery.

Two of them had spinal injuries while the rest had injuries to their face, head and hands. They were taken to National University Hospital and Alexandra Hospital.

The lorry was apparently ferrying foreign workers.

The driver of the car, who was in his twenties, was arrested.

It is understood that the car driver was driving under the influence of alcohol.

In a way it was lucky for the victims to have been flung into the canal.

Imagine if the accident took place on a flyover or an elevated stretch of the expressway such as Benjamin Sheares Bridge?

Immediate death.
