KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 13 — The ringgit fell to a 5½-year low against the greenback today pressured by the slump in crude oil prices, a dealer said. At 5pm, the ringgit was quoted at 3.5920/5950 against the greenback compared with 3.5660/5680 yesterday.

Most Asian currencies were firmer versus the US dollar. The ringgit was traded mostly lower against other currencies. It eased against the euro at 4.2457/2504 from 4.2132/2167 yesterday and fell against the yen to 3.0358/9389 from 3.0024/9054. It weakened against the British pound to 5.4322/3374 from 5.3889/3934 and declined against the Singapore dollar to 2.6886/6915 from 2.6722/6745. — Bernama
