Was at J8 just now and both the MRT side and bus interchange side got many uber sales people trying to get people to join. Overheard something about free rental. They spent most of their money on getting new drivers through referrals, direct sign-ons, etc. For existing drivers, they keep cutting down on incentives to push them out. Stupid or not ? I am one of them that is used for the trial. Guess they see that it does not affect riders pick up rate and also nothing much has changed. So give a go ahead to implement on every uber drivers. Benarsenal Turbocharged November 10, 2017 Share November 10, 2017 On papers, sound good. In reality, trips more than 30 mins are not always shown. Add traffic jams and it's definitely more. If Uber wants driver to be happy, put destination info, like Grab. Instead, they skirt around and give useless destination trips. I seldom get a ping when I use destination trips to Yishun or the system give me ridiculous roundabouts claiming it's destination trips. Like last night, I was at Bedok, and put destination trip as Yishun. It gives me 2 pickups at Changi Coast Rd, Tanah Merah Ferry and drop off at Pasir Ris and Tampines. Now, how is that for going to Yishun from Bedok ? I think it's quite a tough balancing act to keep both drivers and riders happy. Both are important to Uber but their demands are diametrically opposite. I'm ambivalent about the no destination info actually. As a driver yes it is annoying, but I can see the intention for it as a rider perspective. Knowing Singaporeans, if there is such info, then those going to somewhat ulu places will probably be never be able to get a ride. Agree that Uber's Destination Trips is quite stupid though. I still think if PHV same as taxi booking, driver can see the rider destination and choose and pick, then why they need to have PHV in the market?
