Not trying to be racist but... if all Pinoy is so good, so united, so strong, why work overseas? Might as well work in their wonderful country?? talking about taking over Singapore, Philipines is 1 of the poorest country in South East Asia and heavily rely on US "donation" of outdated weapon to support their country defence. With such military and monetary power, trying to take over a SG? using what? sperm maybe?

 

I undestand that the whole Philipines economy is supported by their people working overseas (in 2012, represent 13.5% of the country's GDP).. However, Pinoy seems to be dislike by many countries...

A majority of Filipinos in Hong Kong are domestic helpers. Filipinos in general are usually stereotyped as domestic helpers or maids in Hong Kong.

The Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong launched an advocacy that Filipinos were causing a significant rise of local unemployment in Hong Kong and costing billions in welfare treatment.^[5]

Anti-Filipino sentiment in Hong Kong rose after the 2010 Manila hostage crisis, in which a bus full of mostly Hong Kong tourists was fatally besieged by a disgruntled Filipino police officer, and where subsequent investigations found Filipino officials' handling of the hostage crisis to be directly responsible for the hostages' deaths

 

Malaysia

The anti-Filipino sentiment is most notable in the state of Sabah in Malaysia due to a large presence of Filipino illegal immigrants causing simmering resentment in the state.^[8] The Sabahan locals refer to the illegal immigrants from the Philippines as "Pilak" which means (Filipino illegal immigrants) pejoratively.^[9] The cause of this anti sentiment is due to illegals immigrants who arrived in the 1970's from the Southern Philippines insurgency^[10] bringing along their social problems, culture of crime, and poverty conditions as well as taking away jobs, business opportunities and allegedly stealing Sabahan native land in the state.^[8] This hatred was further strengthened when many of these illegal immigrants were involved in crime mostly robbery, murder and rape. Locals became the main victims which has affected the security of the state as evidenced by the recent 1985 ambush, 2000 kidnappings and 2013 standoff.^{[11][12][13][14]} 72% of Sabah prison inmates are Filipinos, which also constitute the highest in the state than any other nationalities.^[15] Large amounts had been spent for these Filipino illegal immigrants life maintenance and the amount remains unpaid until today despite attempts to recover the monies. Anti-Filipino sentiment in Taiwan is noticeable especially in 2013 as a result of the Philippine Coast Guard killing a Taiwanese fisherman. As a result, Taiwanese businesses have started taking Filipino products off the shelves and some Taiwanese stores refuse to serve Filipino customers

 

United Kingdom

According to a report by the Northern Ireland Council for Ethnic Minorities (NICEM), which was outlined at an event in Stormont, Filipino workers are vulnerable to exploitation, especially those working in the fishing industry. The research also noted many issues encountered by Filipinos in immigration, including limited access to social security and tight restriction on bringing family members with them. In a survey of 150 Filipino correspondents, 42% said that they have experienced racial abuse in the workspace. ^[18]

2 years ago, I was in Hong Kong and joined a guided tour where there is a mixture of singaporeans, Pinoys, Japs etc.

 

The Hong Kong tour guide in the coach was trying to point out that everyone always think the best of ourself compared to others, so he started asking a question to the ladies inside the coach,'Which country man is the best?' The pinoys started saying loudly pinoys man! and giving reasons such as sexy, macho, romantic, hardworking, clever etc etc...there was so much laughter and nodding from the pinoys camp.

 

The rest of us were generally quiet, until the tour guide ask a singaporean family for their answer, the husband answered, 'singaporean man, because we will never allowed our singaporean women to go overseas to work as maid! it is a disgrace to singaporean man if that ever happens.'

 

suddenly, there is an eerie sense of quiet among the pinoys and you can see their faces changed, there was some soft replies in tagolog but we don't understand although the hongkong tour guide seem to undertand and he stared other topics of conversation soon.

most prob they cant handle the stress that is Singapore. Foreigners come here thinking it is the oasis in a desert.....but SG comes with a unique set of job requirement and add it to the stress of being away from family and familiar setting can make one blow his tops. Of course there are those that can handle it in their stride....but not all. So the end result is just like those few before him.....runaway with their tails between their legs@
