I always respect these FW,esp Bangladesh.. Leaving their homes and love ones, come to a foreign land, sleeping at cramped dormitories, work for long hours. They are generally warm and friendly ppl.. Without them, sg won't progress so rapidly.. Kudos to them..

while these FW work their socks off earning that extra OT during weekends,

FT is causing rampage with their disorder cycling habits.....haiz [shakehead]

different people different life and contribution.

Sad to say.....i know of many who did leave their toddler all alone in their homr for a quick task. Once i even talked with my colleagues about how we refused to leave our daughter who was 4-5 yrs old then all alone and some of them can even say why are we so over-bearing. My simple answer....i do not want my face to be plastered in the media for all the wrong reasons should anything untoward happen to my daughter.....!

No punishment and got rewarded?

At first I also WTF.

Thinking through. Give them benefit of doubt la. Could be a low income family and grills cost at least a thousand bucks. Maybe really canno afford. TC did the right thing.

I watched the video, and read some of the comments by others.

So far, I still think the people who did the most were the two FWs, Mr Shanmugamnathan and Mr Muthukumar. What the mother said, whereby only her hubby was working, supporting her, her brother, and her three kids, while emotionally appealing, still doesn't change the fact that she left her baby alone, unattended while she sent another kid to school.

While it might be politically correct to say that to not leave any more comments asking why the mother didn't care for the child / attend to the child, the mistake wasn't so much that she didn't childproof her home (sometimes, kids can be smarter than engineers who design childproof stuff), but that she left the baby unattended at home, when no other adult or caregiver was there to oversee the baby.

Forgive her? I just hope she doesn't do it again (leaving a young child / baby unattended). She's the one who has to forgive herself and live with the guilt had the two heros not saved her baby.

They should be given both. But most FW (at least those I occasionally worked with) will not accept cash as a reward for good deed tho they will gladly accept a treats or ang bao for CNY.

Then we should insist, he needs it and he deserve it

Not every good deed is measured by money lah.

Kudos to these men selflessness and willingness to help out... Makes our world a better place

It is nnot about measuring by money...

Why people don't understand.... he came all the way from his own country, leave his family behind..... all for $18 a day, likely under tough living and working conditions...

How best to help him go back sooner to be reunited his family?

Its money because it's practical not because it is measurable.... a life isn't measurable

low income can afford a ipad?

Or rather they prefer to spend the money on ipad than grille to protect their kids.

Yes I agree. Whether there was grill or not was not really the problem. The mother left the child alone in the house. Low income or not was also not the issue. Rich or poor, there is no reason to leave a child without supervision. Toddler could jolly well go into the kitchen and play with stove, knifes, etc... anything could happen.

Mother now being interview by SPH right.

Her face is out, many of her relative will go knocking her place soon.

Not to ask whether how's the child but to try to recover debts from her.
