1fast1 Supersonic April 29, 2017 Share April 29, 2017 With so much software in cars now, the manufacturer should consider writing a program to prevent drivers from turning the steering wheels too much (to make a lane change or turn) if they have not toggle the signal stick. Yes, and then said manufacturer should consider the massive class action lawsuit that'll surely be on its way because people couldn't take emergency avoiding action with this "safety feature". I prefer to have full control of my car, thank you. I don't even like the stupid ass feature that brakes for me if the car thinks I'm getting too close to the car in front of me, but I can't seem to do anything about it, all these irritating nanny features are so deeply entrenched into modern cars' electronic brains nowadays. Good points. With all this new stuff manufacturers of anything with electronics connected seem to be of the mind 'we can do it so they must want it', not 'we can do it but does it akchewlee improve anything and if someone doesn't want it can we make it so they can turn that feature off'. Most of the time active braking can be disabled and almost all of them are programmed to only intervene at the absolute last moment. I've never had mine intervene before I take my own action, be it swerving or braking of my own accord.
