(edited)

I tested the car about 2 weeks back.
Here are my comments:

- if book now, car arrive in Dec

- 1 year free servicing with 5 years warranty.  assume would have to keep servicing at BM for warranty to be valid?

- interior only got black color.  i think there are more colors available.

- the infotainment system is a joke, such a shame

- The FC apparently is going to be around 10km/l realistically.

- the car is smooth, can't feel the turbo kicking in

- i believe it is pretty fast but it doesn't feel so

- handles bumps extremely well

- interior build quality feels luxurious for the price

- spacious and the sunroof is huge

Turbocharged

Yep, part of the grand evil plan to kill off PI Harrier......muahahaha

Same w C&C I suppose. Show up w a PI MB and dun expect much love from them....

Actually those whom bought with PI shall need to be prepared to pay more after warranty expires or lower resale value.

I actually wanted to buy from PI and even wrote to BM last year to ask if they can service it. BM asked to have the log card for internal approval before they will take in. That's why I hesitated to go for it.

You want protection, you get PPS.

You want shine and smoothness, go for detailing.

PPS is to protect paintwork against minor scratches and the acidity of jiao sai and let it be washed off easily, plus a measure of hydrophobic capability to reduce watermarks.

No shine doesn't mean a PPS is lousy.

I use Blacknano. Cheap and works well for me so far. Been 7 months.

Looking at most forums, there is BlackNano, CeramicPro and MonsterShine

Pricing wise are they all around $500?

Actually all you need is pay $20K to C&C, they will take your car in and honour the warranty as it is from factory - there is a sign at the counter of their Pandan service centre stating this.

I was actually considering GLC from PI last year as the waitlist at C&C was 9 months but my boss decide that she wanted the NX because the price was cheaper.

Heard for adoption cases if wanna claim warranty, gotta pay out of pocket first then when factory accept claim then only get reimbursement. Dunno true or urban legend

I must be one of the only few who's CO told him to forget about NX (despite being much cheaper) and just go with the GLC. She belonged to the camp that hates the NX/RX design language. TBH, I am actually quite fine with it.

I dunno about others but I paid $420 for mine plus another $80 for glass treatment all around.

For a big SUV like the current Sorento, my friend was quoted $450+$90.

Lexus new design is quite edgy, either you like it or hate it. GLC design resonates better with most, for me I just went for - darling you know best.

Our other car is a Merc, thought we try something different. The thing that broke my heart was, I traded in my Alfa for the NX :(

Ok, I will ask when I send my car in for servicing. Will be a while as I just serviced it last month.

Actually I don't have any recommendation. I did mine less than a month after collecting because I wanted to protect the paintwork while it's still virgin :D

I would suggest doing it once you collect the car, so it's done in it's most pristine state. Cheers

If you intend to stick any accessories/emblems on the external surface of the car using double-sided tapes, it is better to finish all those "mods" before PPS since PPS makes the surface slippery and not good for adhesion.

On the other hand, if you intend to debadge your "turbo" emblem, better to do it before PPS too, or else u will get a mark to hint at your turbo-inside status..we wouldn't want that do we?

:D
