It's holy water. They are blessing the cars to be trouble-free and accident-free and the drivers to be traffic violation-free. 🙏

This one is for LHD country...

When I was in USA driving on their highway, had to remember to keep right  unless I was overtaking

This case brings to mind 2 problems I face frequently.   Drivers speeding up when I indicate my intention to change lanes & when I am making discretionary turns.  How do you all protect yourselves against people like that.  They, technically, have right of way but they don't have to speed up either.   Disclaimer: I am not commenting on how the reported accident happened

SJY8657C phv shot straight to Lane 1 filtering from Jln Kayu to Yio Chu Kang Road.

You maybe lucky this time but may not be the next time!

If it were me, and the bugger didn't signal, I'd just accelerate and crash into the guy, then claim from him the whole front side...

Defensive driving gets us so far and avoids the hassle, yes. But the guy gets away scot-free, never learns his lesson and is emboldened to commit more of such acts in future, thinking guys like you will always "give way to him".

No choice when you signal and others accelerate due to ego problem.. Just let them move off first then you slot in behind them lor... Unless you drive a 3.0 or 4.0 lit engine car that can cut in faster than them...

Discretionary right turns... Same thing, if the oncoming car is a fallali or lumbo... Or an ambulance with flashing sirens, and it's some distance away I'll just continue to wait. Otherwise I'd move off if I know there's zero chance of them flooring it and crashing into my tail lights.

At the end of the day - it comes down to how much you value your own life and your passengers' - and whether you have time to afford to mess with the other guy for a claim (even if you have right of way).

If you can't afford losing any of those, just wait until the right green arrow comes up.
