Annoyingly, RAB always defaults back to ON in every new drive cyclem thanks to EU regulations which mandate all ADAS to be ON by default. Somehow, our programming here follows the EU. I've learnt to feather my brake pedal while reversing, constantly tapping on it so the car's system knows I'm ready to brake anytime, else it will give me a hard jerk when I'm reversing a little too fast and too close to the obstacles behind 😅 Edited February 12 by Lethalstrike 1

Tonypang Neutral Newbie March 1 Share March 1 hi Some qns on BYD. Hope the senpai here can help :) Is there charges and data limit for the 4G connection ? However, those original Atto 3 owners are still not being charged after 2 years. Basically, no one really knows and Sime not committing. Maybe once they sell enough cars and sales start dropping they will turn on this 2nd income stream. OTA updates, yeah so far all Chinese cars been doing it free. In future, no one knows. Nope. Again, in future no one knows. So if you want to buy a car, assume what you test drive is the final form and dont expect magic improvements from potential future updates (like Elon Musk hypetrain of OTA can magic your car into Skynet). Tianmo Hypersonic March 3 Share March 3 I use AA, never bother with the build in map, which is Google map anyway. 2 months in, only had a language OTA update, nothing else. Sent the car in for first 5000 km check up last sat, said got software update, but fix nothing, and nothing changes. Quite a bad experience with motor east defu WS actually.

The Sealion 7 only came to international markets in 2025, so don't expect much to change for 2026. All ex-China model are using the older e-Platform 3.0 with a 400V electrical architecture with an older electric drive unit that combines 8 features into one unit. Units in China (called the Sealion 07) are using the more advanced e-Platform 3.0 Evo featuring an 800V electrical architecture as well a newer drive train that combines 12 features into one unit. The China units also have the DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system, which is an adaptive suspension that senses the road condition and reactively adjust the rigidity of the wheel dampers. Also a better Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS) called DiPilot 100 (nicknamed "God's Eye C"), which uses 12 ultrasonic sensors, 5 mm-wave radars and 11 omni view cameras in an integrated system. The China model also has a larger 91.3 kWh battery. So it's a question of when some of the above features will come over to the international version. Maybe the future Sealion 7 will no longer have a rotating 15.6" touchscreen, but fixed to the horizontal position. BYD is going to have a tech day on 5-Mar-2026. Will be interested in the the Blade Battery 2.0 which has 50% more energy density and costs 15% less to produce than the current Blade Battery 1.0 that's used in Sealion 7. Wondering when Blade Battery 2.0 is going to be rolled out into the Sealion 7? Its going to save weight and bring costs down (i.e. lower OMV) which should be reflected in a lower selling price in the future. No, only Asia and AU. EU has option for the Excellence trim which is 800v and 91kWh battery, which is sold side by side with the 400v models with 81kWh batt.
steveting99 3rd Gear March 3 Share March 3 (edited) @Ake109 Thanks for the clarification. Was going to update the previous post, but can't do that now. Does the EU version comes with a 220V power supply, a karaoke system, and NFC keyless entry and 11 safety airbags like the China model? As well as DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system and DiPilot 100? Edited March 3 by steveting99 additional text

Our SG one I never bothered to check, I think have but need buy own cable. Karaoke all have, but again buy own mike. NFC all have. Airbags dunno how many DiSuS C is just hype. I have it and I will swap it for a set of well tuned shocks/springs anytime. The other Disus A or X are the supposed higher ends one but I never experienced. Dipilot/GodsEye all that, none of the export models have as far as I know. You see the China domestic ones, all have this extra lump on top of the roof. I suspect they dowan Ang Mos complain BYD car spy on them. Edited March 3 by Ake109 1

steveting99 3rd Gear March 3 Share March 3 Doesn't make much sense to get Cat A Sealion 7 now. Cat B is the same price as Cat A! Only difference is Road Tax between Cat A ($1.5k) vs. Cat B ($2.3k). Or $0.8k per year. One gets more features and power in the Cat B. ↡ Advertisement
