[Error] Mazda & Vezel Thread

Yup. Cheers all, vezel and hrv are just like step brothers. Haha.

More than that.. I was floored by the smart looks the first time I saw the car. Then I was crest fallen when I realised only PIs sell it back then. I felt worse when I saw the Thai made HRV, and I nearly vomitted blood at the 134k that they were asking back then..

By the time it came to replacing my car, the same money gave a lot more options.

Then the explosion of Uber / Grab taxis just took my breath away..

But this is a nice ride that will be our National car for a few years at least. I think it has outsold the Conti Car - Nissan QQ. Many actually forgot it's made in Sunderland, not Japan..

I kept wishing for Kah to bring in the hybrid, but they didn't. Lexus gives 10 year warranty and a one for one exchange.

I guess if Kah had to do that, they will need to charge more and it won't be competitive.

The only thing we as consumers can do is to keep bugging them.

I suspect that they have been monitoring the sales of such cars as well as reflecting on the number of electric cars they have sold and realise that it isn't a volume seller..  :(

Yes. Kah Motor has to factor in the cost of the replacement for battery. The cost will be higher.

If km sell hybrid vezel, expect it to be close to $130k.

Just look at PI and AD Prius price diff, almost 30k.

The reason is probably due to Borneo's Prius being at a much higher spec than those sold by PI.

Its up to individual to decide whether the additional features are worth the 30k premium.

Do note that the Prius sold at different PI varies in features.

Any possible reasons that KM don't bring in hybrid version?

don't want to keep additional spare parts, require more technical knowledge to repair?

Thinking to get the hybrid version as it is more refined than HRV DX and has better acceleration.

I did not keep track of Honda's foray into the Hybrid scene but it seems the Hybrid technology is pretty new to them?

One thing for sure - you need to test both models before deciding. In this case the HR-V and Vezel Hybrid.

I was deciding between the Vezel Hybrid and Prius initially but with Toyota having almost 3 decades of experience manufacturing and refining the Prius' engine, I decided to go with the latter.

Having Taxi companies incorporate the Prius in their Line-up also serves to boost consumers' confidence. Spare parts should be plentiful in 3rd party workshops in the unfortunate event where replacement of parts needs to be done.

HRV buyers are very price sensitive. So if it goes up to 130k or even 125k, many will baulk at the asking price, especially if there's no free battery replacement - they didn't offer that for the old Civic Hybrid. And it costs 5-7k to replace that. These costs need to be factored into the final cost of the car, and may negate any fuel savings. Of course, it does help that the Hybrid is significantly faster..  [thumbsup]

If you travel a lot, it may be worth it but the replacement cost of the Vezel battery is about 3-4 K. I feel that the Non Hybrid HRV/Vezel FC is good enough. The plus point is the tail lights of the Hybrid is nicer.

Honda Japan does not allow KM to bring in hybrid as hybrid is strictly for Japanese market. KM just sells whatever Honda Japan allows them to sell.

Sorry to hear about the accident.

Sound bad if the front wheel flew off.

On your question,

1. can not change gears to P/N/R > need to engage brake before the lever can be moved .

2. Basically engine cannot start but electronics still working > need to engage brake before engine can start.

Hence I think your brake system is affected by the accident.

Maybe he want to start the car to release the handbrake for the tow truck to tow it.

Honda vezel is using electronic handbrake that require electric source to release when the P button is pressed

Press brake also cannot start?

Press brake can release the handbrake?

Press brake can hear the microswitch sound which release the lock for the gear lever to move.

Just curious, not a mechanic thou.

Hello, what is the cost of the 2 years car insurance you guys got from KM? No NCD.

Depends on age. It varies.

I was quoted like $18xx with zero ncd.

34 years old here.
