  1. Wow!! I just checked a few websites (honda, toyota, kia) on their models, almost none are offering manual transmission?!? I understand that most people will go for the auto, but definitely there'll be some go for manual one. I mean how difficult it is to have an option for manual? Just blardy import the car in as like an auto?? Are there more paperwork?? Mechanic dunno how to service a manual ride?? The factory no longer producing manual transmission?? It's not like they stock up manual vehicles in their showroom and not able to sell (they order then ship in usually). So why they don't even offer it anymore still buffles me. If BMW, Audi, VW, Merc were to offer manual transmission, i'm pretty sure there will be orders for them too. Anyone wanna shed some light??

  4. A despatch driver was jailed for four weeks for offering $100 to a cop for not issuing him a ticket for using a mobile phone while driving. Lim Kim Seng, 68, pleaded guilty to corruptly offering the amount to Coporal Ng Ching Heng along Thomson Road on July 6, 2011. He was also fined $800 and banned from driving for four months for using the phone while driving at about 3.25pm that day. The court heard that Cpl Ng was patrolling along Thomson Road when he saw Lim steering the lorry with his left hand and using the cellphone which he held to his right ear with his right hand. He trailed the lorry and signalled him to stop by the side of the road. When told of the offence he had committed, Lim pleaded with Cpl Ng not to issue him with a summons. 5. STOMPer Jason saw a parked taxi catch fire at Bedok. The cause of this was probably the burning offerings on the carpark kerb, said the STOMPer. Jason related over the phone (Aug 28): "This happened near the Bedok North 511 market today, around 6.15pm. "At first, the fire was small, then within three minutes, it became a big blaze. "Firemen on motorbikes arrived at the scene within three minutes, and managed to control the fire. "Shortly after, a Red Rhino and a fire engine arrived at the scene too. "The taxi driver was not present at the scene -- he must have parked there to go have dinner at the nearby market. "I believe the cause might have been the candles and other burning offerings on the kerb. "These were directly under the parked taxi -- and the taxi was parked properly. "They should not have burnt the offerings so near to the carpark. "Either this was the cause, or burning ash from nearby offerings could have blown over and also sparked the fire. "The taxi's two rear tyres were burnt, and the boot also had holes caused by the blaze. "The whole incident took about half an hour. "I also saw the firemen trying to find the taxi driver's particulars to contact him."
  6. The pilsner-swilling Bavarians in charge of BMW's classics sure have been keeping busy lately. With Oktoberfest half a year away, they've launched a new vintage racing division and opened up their restoration garage to private owners. Now they're offering tours around Munich, chauffeured in some very rare classic Bimmers from the company's private collection. The tours begin and end at the BMW Museum, and visit BMW Tower, BMW Welt, and the 3 Series assembly plant as well as various historic sites around the city. The roster of cars used for the tours includes 326 and 335 Cabriolets from the 1930s, the 50s-era 502 "Baroque Angel" Cabriolet, and a one-of-a-kind 3200 CS Cabriolet. The tour will cost a not-insubstantial 90 euros per person (about $120 USD), but if you're planning a trip to Germany between now and October, it looks well worth checking out.
  7. I resolve that petrol stations should stop offering discounts, this would make pumping faster and more convenient. Singapore is the only country I have ever pumped in where I am forced to "pay inside". If the petrol kiosks stopped offering discount then we could either pay the attendant or pump $50 and quickly run in pass cash, run out. By making us queue for discount the stations are wasting our time. Make the pump price lower, or if maybe "share" the discount between lower pump price and loyalty points - then if seldom pump at particular company can still get in and out quickly. My gripe is that forcing us to queue for our discount is inefficient and treating us like sheeple - Your thoughts?
