Porker Turbocharged August 22, 2011 Share August 22, 2011 you are darn stupid to betray your own breed. no wonder TDs have low social status. you could have corrected him privately. lest you saved someone else life, but killed him. That's the reason why Ris Low said Singapore is an unforgiving society. Many Singaporeans are too self righteous and like to take the moral high ground too. ↡ Advertisement

Watwheels Supersonic August 23, 2011 Share August 23, 2011 Long story short. I had a confrontation with a fellow TD just now. Then I realise he smell of alcohol. So I call police and the TP arrested him. License sure revoke. Then some fellow TD who are around says I went over board. We are all fellow TD so must give chance. Now his rice bowl broken. So do you guys think I am wrong? Personally I hate people who drink and drive. Very irresponsible. Somemore a TD if drink and drive is also endangering lives of the pax. Please feel free to comment. Thank you. It depends. Did you call the police cos your ego got hurt? If you really want ppl to comment right or wrong why not tell the whole story? What was the confrontation about? SimonTan 2nd Gear August 23, 2011 Share August 23, 2011 That is why the rental should be increased, and fuel price increased higher. This way there is not time for them to sit down coffeeshop, or even got time to drink. Work 15 hrs shift, go home dead tired sleep. Wake up, repeat the work. No spare time and money to buy beers or wine to enjoy. The job pays just nice for the rentals, hdbs, taxes, and basic food. Cannot give such people too much free will and time. They will up to no good with each others.

What was the confrontation about? I kinda get where u are coming fm. But for TD to drink and drive, and continue to ferry passengers, not rite at all. Can't be bothered wat happens to the TD if anything happened resulting fm his drinking. Being responsible is the issue, not wether others are an unforgiving lot or not. But TD can always say he stopped shift oready.
ChickenMob 6th Gear August 23, 2011 Share August 23, 2011 nobody will take care of your ricebowl for you. but you can break your own ricebowl. If he value his licence , i dun think he will drink and drive.

This gug broke the law and put his passengers at risk - I hope he gets jail.

Darryn Turbocharged August 23, 2011 Share August 23, 2011 Think of it another way - If you never report, then he pick me up, have an accident and kill me. Also kill the a motorcyclist, father of two who was on the way home from work. My family rice bowl gone, my daughters' dadddy gone, the other motorcyclists family ricebowl also gone, daddy also gone - would you be able to live with these two INNOCENT families having that happen to them? Drink and drive on duty is a bad bad thing to do. You did the right thing. If he was fit to drive - nothing would have happened. If he unfit to drive - he deserves everything he gets. Civicblade 2nd Gear August 23, 2011 Share August 23, 2011 (edited) In all professions, there are minimum standards to meet in order to keep your rice bowl and in many profession, the standard is way low. Drunk driving while being on duty as a TD is way below the minimum. Rice bowl is not a given right, you have to earn it and it is not difficult to earn a decent living in Singapore. There are no excuses for drunk driving, you want your rice bowl, others want their lives. Imagine your kid walking home from school and some drunk TD ........ Hammerhammer, you did the right thing. Do you think the offender would listen to your advice and not drink and drive if you were to talk to him privately. Let the law do its work, there are consequences for people who are grownups but act like kids. Edited August 23, 2011 by Civicblade
Hondacub777 6th Gear August 23, 2011 Share August 23, 2011 What's the real reason behind calling police? I'm sure you know the answer very well since you started this post. Totally agree with u.Maybe TS can tell us more abt the confrontation. Also they were at the coffeeshop, there's nothing wrong drinking at that place.Unless he drove off after drinking than yes,TS did the right thing. But I tends to believe it has more to do with the confrontation than the drink driving which TS call for the police.Maybe TS,can reveal more. ↡ Advertisement
