otherwise, 8 years ... minus here minus there ... 5.5 years come out enjoy MILLIONS liao !!!

not just that ... they have tarnished the entire image of Church and damaged the trust in donation and governance

this has a huge impact in society ... yes ... must punished 6 to warn 5.5M people ... [thumbsup]

totally inadequate ... judge said no "personal gain" that's why lenient punishment

in my opinion they have had gained so much for so long liao :yuush:

like that ... ahjib kor also can say he never took money for personal use

 

i also feel is inadequate...  need to + + +

I recently re-watched Shawshank Redemption, as well as another video on Youtube about a guy who was jailed at 25, only being set free at 69.

 

Yes, some of the sentences are way too light, but in calling for higher sentences, we should also try to think about what happens to those who are sentenced.

Then again, seeing as Kong Hee Fat Choy still doesn't seem remorseful, and his FB posts seem to show that while they did wrong in the eyes of the law, it's merely an oversight, I'd say, give him a longer sentence. =P

 

I don't think we've seen the end of this yet though. Next is IRAS.

Yeah, totally agree that its too light. 

 

To cheat $50 million and just get 8 years in jail, everyone will want to do it. The risk is worth to take.  Give me a chance, i also might be tempted to do it.

 

The Law should implement the rotan canings into white collar crimes. Sure got drastic reduction of crime rate.
