Not bad leh, 8 hours per day, excluding weekend for $2.5K.

No, is including weekend.  I went jb with her yesterday and as we chatted in car, she knows a few person rents a uber car and drives just enough to cover the rental, just so as to own a car.

Yep some people do that.

It's another way to drive a new car without worrying about road tax, insurance and maintenance.

Not everyone can afford the 40% down payment.

Well, I guess if she doesn't drive on weekends, $1.8 to $2K is also possible. Not too bad considering some part time only pays $5 an hour plus there's the car for usage.

Was at Yishun industrial last week.

Saw many Vezel accident cars from LCR waiting for repair.

At Blk 1019 corner shop.

Have not tried Grab yet cos I find Uber cheaper.  [:p]

Anyways, for a simple point A to point B ride, I am not too fussy. Have sat in those old 900cc taxis in Beijing before ...  [grin]

I know Grab taps on taxis but as for cars I don't know how it works. If you want new ones maybe can book the electric ones ?

Sometimes grab is cheaper than uber in some case. Actually uber also have old cars, not all cars are new although uber bought tons of brand new cars. Lol.

oh, so far i check around 10 times and Uber is cheaper. so now I seldom check the Grab app already.

btw, am referring to fares before any discount code.

Uber cars are from LCR, how about grab ah? I always find grab cars quite in poor condition as compared with uber.

I think a lot of Grab drivers take those short term hourly cars like from Tribecar, or they drive their own car. Those are usually older models compared to Uber's brand new LCR cars.

I just started driving for uber, rent from LCR.

It's convenient driving for uber, bcuz LCR auto deduct from uber from your driving.

I think it's possible to drive for Grab, only thing is you don't enough time to make enough for uber, then you need to pay up for the rental.

Driving with uber is not easy. Making $6k ? you got to slog like a dog, not possible for everyone.

i met a taxi driver who is in his 30s and he made $6k+ a month, straight for 2 months. i met him while we both Q-ing at airport.

he is single, and he spent most of his time driving his taxi. he says he slept inside his taxi in a Q to catch the first flight for his first pax

of the day. it is possible, but one needs to drive more, eat fast and sleep less (drive 16-18 hours for 30 days) to make $6k.

not difficult to hit this target for young, fit and new drivers. at most 1-2 months. anything more would only earn and feed the doctor later.

Cool. Hybrid is a good choice. Save on petrol costs.

Hope the rental isn't too taxing and you can get to earn a decent amount. All the best.  [thumbsup]

Yeah that is true. You earn big money but you pay for it in other ways.

You also try driving for uber?! Lol. Driving for uber for short-term consider not bad, and if you dont need driving uber to sustain your daily expenses. Esp now uber have so many types of new car model to choose lo.

I guess long hours are good for the self employed. As for those employees, working that long usually means all your colleagues will hate you for spoiling market.

U finally decide to drive for uber bro.

Take your time to learn how to maximize the earnings for the incentive scheme.

Friday and Sat late nights must drive, sure earn. Go town area like Ann Siang, Clarke quay. Those drinking places where the angmohs like to patronize.

Uber not always cheaper, good to cross shop between the apps to check pricing. This morning my ride to work was more than a dollar cheaper by grab compared to uber (no promos).

But of course i flip between the two depending on the promos. This whole week i've been taking uber because i got 5 bucks off a bunch of rides. Used up all yesterday so today grab cheaper plus i get 8 bucks off my second ride for later today.
