Vid Hypersonic January 7, 2015 Share January 7, 2015 please forgive this pinoy i will need his countrymen to take care of me when i am old because all you guys talking here now don't want to work in healthcare If Singaporeans behave like that overseas, I will be ashamed to be associated with them. I would think they need to fark off from that country. Similarly, I expect pinoys working here to feel that that trash is wrong. If they agree with that trash, then something is seriously wrong and you should be afraid when you get old and NOT hoping they would take care of you. ↡ Advertisement

Kb27 Supersonic January 7, 2015 Share January 7, 2015 When you're a guest working in a foreign country, you behave accordingly and live with humility. You don't expect to change your host behaviour and your host culture while you're there. This applies to everyone. You don't hear of Sgporeans behaving badly while working in the USA or European countries. But you do see many such cases here. They need to be taken down and put in their proper places. When in Rome, do as the Roman does.

Solar Turbocharged January 7, 2015 Share January 7, 2015 read about the CECA agreement thing between Singapore and India... Singapore is supposed to allow unlimited number of India nationals to come and work in Singapore, including their spouses i wonder what other countries also sign this agreement with our govt <_< Don't know if the quota applies to blue collar only or include executives earning above 10k..but I believe it excludes executives.. Otherwise my place wouldn't be nearly 清一色 abnn in the senior management.

Mustank Hypersonic January 7, 2015 Share January 7, 2015 Most pinoys are just here to eke out a living. I know many of them, they are generally good people. Lazy ones yes like all cultures have. Sad fact is that local nurses are in demand to become clinic assistants, nurses in private sector. Quite a few change jobs or drop out after marrying. The pay has improved but how many people want to do shift work, get scolded so often on a daily basis (by sister or patients) and wipe people's kar cheng? Do you want your daughter to be a nurse? Honestly? Up for Bro Lala!!!!!!

He even invited us to his birthday lunch gathering at his place last month. ;-)
Carnoob Supercharged January 7, 2015 Share January 7, 2015 Good question which only TTSH or MOM has the answer. Based on the general guide line it would be quite "challenging" if the percentage is true. Don't be surprised if it is not unique to TTSH, if you look carefully, most hosp it already 60% or more FT. MOM will come out and tell us the same old thing: - No one want to do the long hours jobs so we need to import FTs. And yet we spend millions of dollars to import FTs and trained them to be nurses and doctors through scholarship, sponsorship etc... Then the never-ending debate on salary will come out as well... salary so low, long hours etc etc... As I had been advocating, import FTs is the simplest, fastest way to increase GDP else how did the gov managed to be the MEDICAL HUB within a few years? Our citizens were so focus (brain-washed) on earning "big bucks" by doing white collar jobs... Well, the future is now on our hands... do we want to end up 2nd class in our own country? But can we do these "long hours" jobs (nurse, retail, etc)? If we want, we can. Shift out from our comfort zones... believe once again on 行行出状元, 简单就是幸福
Baal Supersonic January 7, 2015 Share January 7, 2015 I go to hospitals pretty often. From eye power. Yes. Not too sure whether true or not, since it came from a staff... Anyway, thought we are producing a lot of nurses, through nursing course conducted at ITE, etc... Where have all these ppl gone to? If local companies are not employing our own ppl, how can we prosper as a nation? What's the point of employing so many FTs when on one hand, they kudos to our every instruction, and on the other hand, scolding us at the back?! To be a strong Nation, one must rely on our own ppl .. to stand up !

Baal Supersonic January 7, 2015 Share January 7, 2015 Hence, they should be paid like a Sg Manager. When locals shun it, it also means that the cons outweigh the benefits. Nursing is no easy job.
