When LHL announced the status of THE house at oxley...that announcement somehow gave me an impression it's going to remain there for a while. A little bit of displeasure undertone from LHL.

I read many of her write ups..............and I would usually read them when I see them...............not because I love to read her writings...............but to see how far she can push it before she hits the wall............

It is LKY wish to leave the house to LWL and have it demolished until the day when she decided to move out of it. So there is nothing against her LKY's wish by continuing to stay there.

 

I think the underlying point for his desire to have it demolish is the the house is nothing special. Their Oxley unit is just a house that is so typical of every Singaporean family. It is a private space that he and his family used to share. It doesn't become special just because his is dead. If there is nothing special about the house, then the only use of it is for their family members.

I personally think the house will likely become a kind of museum shrine, someone just waiting for the right time to say this is due to public demand. That's probably part of the reason for the family split.

AFAIK. . Lwl never say she want to buy over supporters and fix the opposition. . That alone tells their core operating system.

my thoughts on this saga...

 

- LHL might not want to have over elaborated commemoration of LKY but his kar kia overdid it

 

- LWL has gone too far by accusing her brother as dishonorable son in public

 

- this has become embarrassing for LHL (and Singapore) both domestically and internationally (Taiwan media has reported this already)

 

- it will hasten his leadership transfer to the next PM

 

- if he knows it, LKY will not want any commemoration nor his children quarrel in public (so both LHL and LWL will be wrong in the eyes of LKY)

 

- as for HJ and her monkey photo... childish and immature! as if the Lee family is not embarrassed enough
