What is the most frustrating when vehicle breakdown?

I won't forget the day the brake pump failed.

Had to drive from Eunos to AMK workshop via PIE.

Leave a big gap in front and pump the brake, bcuz it goes all the way down to the floor, almost no brake.

Then someone would cut in and I had to leave a big gap again and worked the gears and handbrake. [laugh]

With electric park brake becoming common and without manual mode for the automatic transmission, it would be almost impossible to perform the feat you did! I would most likely have called for a tow vehicle.

Hmm... a few years ago on a hot day, I was travelling at about 80-90km/h on the Keppel Viaduct

when all of a sudden, there was a high pitch sound from the engine in front before it lost power.

The car was still coasting at lane 2 as I tried a few times to restart the engine but unfortunately

to no avail.    After turning on the hazard lights,  I steer painstakingly without power steering to

the road shoulder.

I was practically stuck on the expressway as the nearest exit was quite a distance and I learnt

that I can't call a taxi because they cannot stop on the expressway.  I called AA and they take

about 2 hours (IIRC).   Next, I called EMAS which appeared shortly and they suggested to tow

the car to the East Coast carpark which is the nearest before the AA takes over.

My friend real life.

His Jap sports car tire puncture in orchard.

He was with this girl he liked v much. Dainty. Demure.

The girl got off and he reluctantly ask her to go back on her own. Wanted to pay for cab but the girl very thrifty. Took MRT from Somerset. He hated himself at that moment.

If your friend had change tyre or repair the tyre, he would have scored points because it will be very manly.

The most frustrating would be when you are doing a death match touge and you drop your front right wheel into the drain to over take the evo on a right turn and then you found out that the drain was a rochor canal and your car just drop into it.

Waiting for a hauling truck under the laughing faces of the Indians watching you at tekka mall is no joke.

He should have pass her his credit card and ask her go shopping. Call her back when the punctured tire is replaced with the spare. Dan I believe when you say he like this girl very much. [laugh]

Women are all the same. What man thinks.... she's dainty, demure, wait til she gets hold of your credit card. You can throw what you think of her out the window. That's when you get to see the real her.

Does EMAS charge for this service ?? If so how much ?? (knowing that there is no FOC meal in SGP)

So actually finally what was the issue??

Also what make of car???

EMAS does not charge for their service, as it is already paid for by motorists in the form of road tax.

As the name (Expressway Monitoring Advisory System) would imply, the recovery crew would only respond to vehicle breakdowns on expressways, helping to tow the vehicles to the nearest safe locations where the drivers' tow service providers can take over, so as to restore normal traffic flow on the expressways.

Should this happen again, and your friend is unfamiliar with replacing the punctured tire with a spare one himself, he could call a cab and pay the driver to do it for him. My sister did that. Cab drivers are on the road so often that one may be surprised how fast they could change tires.

FOC.

Alternator.

Chevrolet Optra - I would say an alternator every 4-5 years.

This is a very smart suggestion !

My first car..second hand with renewed coe.

Brought a new gf back then to see reservoir under the moon.

Wasn't familiar with cars and ended up with a flat battery.

Lucky thing was after some awkward half hour I ngeh ngeh tried again and it fired up.

Learnt a lesson.. Never let the AC run on battery alone without the engine on
