@Wind30

If i had to buy a B&B car for my family.
I would definitely pick the Elantra with 6 airbags, VSC as standard.

IIHS ratings all G.

Only the Mz3 or a Jetta is equivalent in terms of the sedans. But the local Mz3 only has 4 airbags.

am I correct to say its nothing more than just a gimmick?

looking at the current coe price, lets say $50k.

how can they get below 43k?

It's a gimmick imo

Very seldom does it drop so far down

But buyers are too obsessed with it.

5 year free servicing....but the AD will try to ask you to change wear and tear items every servicing for the whole 5 years

so you will pay AD prices for these items or go outside workshop to change which means extra time and effort

good or not... you decide

:D

Free servicing, means all inclusive. You pay nothing.

Actually you pay for everything other than oil, filters and such. Only oil change parts are free at Borneo.

Forget about free pads, shocks etc ..

Defintely. My 2 colleagues, 1 having a 2 years old Jetta  and another 3 yrs old Jetta is

quite comfortable and quiet during the drive.

Only have small issues like gearbox issues and change the gearbox twice.

Engine stalled on PIE and nearly cause accident.

Engine stalled in various locations 4 to 5 times and have to be towed back to Volkswagen workshop.

Other than that, not much issue overall.

hahaha good one.

important features? Like the 2 airbags? anything else?

If I can put the budget at 120-130k, is there any other good deals now?

I am early forties. My first car was a Nissan cefiro, then I bought a 2nd car Nissan Slyphy for my wife. Sold off the cefiro when we bought a new place a few years back.

Wondering if I should buy a more Ëxpensive car while I am still errr... young?

Honda Civic 1.5T!

Or Jade.

That's for me if having 120-130k budget.

Not gimmick.

That $7k is their bonus, aka extra margin.

lower than 43k is bonus to the buyer. but will need the luck to strike 4D.

don't say it will never happen as it happened early last year when some drove off their Odyssey for $138k or less.

no ah.. depends on the COE outcome..

its a guaranteed bid.. so regardless .. buyer will get car...  if 50k.. dont need top up...

but in event of low bidding.. and say car is secured at 37k.. buyer gets 6k back..

IIRC... it happened only once.. when cat B freak plunged to 38k or so... sometime early last year...

Yes, also depends on look at how far back.

For sure those times when COE was $50, $100, $10, etc., the owners would have gotten a windfall.

In more recent times, you're right only last yr Feb Cat B plunged to $38k. I will forever remember it as I had paid $58k just 2 wk before that to renew my car  :TT_TT:

Free servicing, means all inclusive. You pay nothing.

Only pays for wear-and-tear items that need replacing, e.g. tyres, brake pads, etc.

IMO cruise control or Adaptive isn't a big deal in small SG

Step on the pedal, keep yourself awake.

I rather have airbags and other safety features.

Hmm it looks like we have a few buyers in the middle age group.. :)
