honor is the sub-brand of huawei.

locally, it's around 300-500+ dollars here locally. Your samsung A54 would be at the upper tier of midrange. But there's a long way to go before flagship price which is >1000 dollars. In between would be your previous generation flagships like mine or my wife's phone.

Personally, I think that's where i find most value for money. around 400-800+ dollars.

I am patiently waiting for HONOR Magic 5 launch in SG to replace my aging Huawei mate 20x

will it launch in SG?

xiaomi doesnt even bring it's ultra series here to SG. it didn't even bring Mi12.

Oppo find X5 pro is the only real flagship chinese phone in SG. But even then it didn't have the 512gb version in SG.

Huawei have to admit, was the only chinese company to go all guns blazing in expansion and willing to bring in their top phones.

My mother's HW Nova3i is actually quite a decent midranger. And this was one of those close to zero dollar type of phones redeemed by my sis last time.

I'd like to find out if anyone else using different phones has this problem.

My Oneplus, when locked screen, my toddler can press a Emergency button, followed by another button to call 999.

Now I received warning SMS from Police. Last time, I managed to disconnect the call, but nothing happens.

This is really frustrating and I can't find ways to disable this stupid Emergency call. Of cuz you want your phone locked, but it allows the stupid thing to call 999, for fk.

I think my Oppo A17 and Samsung Tab 7, also allows Emergency call, but I didn't have SIM card in them, so I can't test out and the Oppo is not working too well now.

I disabled the below. But the unlock screen pin entry will still have the emergency SOS button.

that's a pretty reasonable MSRP given the specs and the capability of the camera.

I can't bring myself to part 4 figure for a phone 😬... also worried losing or damaging it.

Hence im always the mid range buyer. Think gonna grab the Samsung A54 next..

Yup its a good choice. Does 95% of the job other than camera limitations which is not obvious in good lighting.

I paid 1.2k for my s9+ back in the day. my x3pro was 800+ cos I buy older flagships.

They last me quite a while though so I don't mind spending more.

Global spending on hp has dropped in general as the gap from flagship to mid and Lower range phones has reduced.

If you buy without phone contract and getting high end phone, sure need to pay 4 figure. Your mid-range phone price means around $600? To me any phone about $400 is consider not very cheap liao. Those phones which is below $300 then consider cheap. 😂 That's why if i buy a 4-figure phone, i will use the phone for a very long time, would not keep changing phone every 2 years like what most people do.

Samsung A series models are now cheaper than many Chinese brands.

Samsung A34 is high on my list now. in my Shopee shopping cart waiting for 8.8. :D

My main phone is oppo n flip. Around 1.2k. my secondary phone is op Nord 3ce. Around $300. I would say both phones perform similarly for my usage albeit the n flip is not a flagship. The 300 dollars phone have a slightly better battery life.

My last 2 phones are op 7t and lg v30. Both used around 4 to 5 years. Smartphone technology has plateau a few years ago and no point to change every couple of years for the latest and greatest.

Is Samsung A series phone ok to buy? It seems like many people used Samsung A series phone before. Then they move on to Samsung S series. 😂
