My girl is 11. She doesn't have a phone. I told her when her psle is over I will give her a phone. 

I know a significant portion of her friends have hp. Probably majority of the class.

I think I'm probably one of the lowest quartile parents to let my kids have their own number.

I would let them have a phone then. For safety. But if they play games or watch tik tok while crossing the road... 

Just that have strict limits at home usage. Phone goes into no use area in the living room after a certain time of day.

Im thinking giving cheap un smart phone... purely just make phone call only type. You know,  the usual.. "papa pick me up now...", "papa I got extra lesson..."

But also worried...wait classmates all galaxy,  iPhones etc... she feel bad 😬

Haha I think yeah that's too much. Either u trust your kid with a phone but put strict limits on usage.

Or don't have one at all.

Your son probably have some intrinsic understanding of numbers. You can build on it to a higher level. 

My son could add and subtract before he was 2. Just from playing 2 dice board games. At that age, it's mostly intrinsic ability. 

I think undirected use is unlikely to benefit your son beyond a certain degree. That's cos a phone is built  for consumption. It's not a pc or laptop. 

Directed learning from YouTube can be achieved. Like numberblocks cartoon etc. 

But I would say that 99.9% of people using handphone especially kids are not really learning anything. 

They are like mice learning to run a maze. It's not "intelligence". It's just adaption to environment.

Hmm i didn't get a type c wired ear phone though this phone has an actual FM radio for those old folks. BUT need wired earphones. 

Clear casing just buy from shopee China seller. Takes about one week for delivery. 2 dollars niah. 

Charger I also buy some cheap 20 watt safety mark one. Mainly cos the provided cable is a usb c to usb c.

Me and wifey gave my boy this watchphone. A SIM card enable phone. GPS tracking(safety), phone call and messaging capability, no social media enabled. Camera for simple picture taking.

The best part all contact add/delete control through an app installed on wifey phone. About 5 of his classmates having the same watch.

Exynos 850 for the 4G version. 

Yes it's supposed to be slightly faster than the comparable mediatek in the oppo a17. Maybe just a few percentage points difference. 

The exynos 1330 in the A14 5g is significantly more powerful than the 4g version. But also quite a bit more expensive at 260. By then u have to consider if u want to step up to the a34 already.

Yours is the 4g version ah.. then I think the Helio G80 version is faster than the exynos 850 one... But both are slower than the 5g versions

Yes my kids friend had this when came over on playdate, according to wife.

when my girl started school that time, this hasn't really came to sg yet. 

But the school is quite strict on handphone usage within classes. And we fetch 100% of the time. So not a big deal.
