Cyclists and e-scooter riders don't give a shit about safety because the law (more like the lack of it) implicitly encourages them to be reckless. Just like car accidents, the law only met out a little token punishment even if the culprit ends up killing someone. As a pedestrian, don't mistake the law as being your protection and having your safety at heart. In reality it's not. The law is only interested in a negative outcome (accident) and the subsequent punishment needed. It reflects the current state of the government - all talk only. Introduce rules but incapable or unwilling to enforce. Like car loan caps. No Smoking at various places.
