Reckless Cyclist

Human nature is such that if there's a law telling them not to do something but you don't have a big stick to back it up, it's as good as telling them to ignore it.

Cyclists and e-scooter riders don't give a shit about safety because the law (more like the lack of it) implicitly encourages them to be reckless.  Just like car accidents, the law only met out a little token punishment even if the culprit ends up killing someone.

As a pedestrian, don't mistake the law as being your protection and having your safety at heart.  In reality it's not.  The law is only interested in a negative outcome (accident) and the subsequent punishment needed.  Whatever suffering of the victim is totally his/her own business.

That's what i had said for the longest time.

When i am walking on pavement, i am always ready to kick any cyclist/e-device user.  My safety paramount even i need to use some force.

It reflects the current state of the government - all talk only.  Introduce rules but incapable or unwilling to enforce.  Like car loan caps. No Smoking at various places.  Speed cap on electric bike/scooter is just another one.

Perhaps Singapore needs its (legal) version of Duterte....

I think high chance they could bang onto you, then you lose out lo. Cause the speed that they approach you quite fast even sometimes you have no reaction time.

Already say so many times, just follow china, have a dedicated cycling lane

Not possible in Sg lah.  Only Beijing has such a wide lane.  Shanghai & GuangZhou don't have le.

By the way, bike lane in Beijing has the messiest trafic in the world.
